206xtreme Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Hello guys. Just a simple question about a query I had. Is it better to just 45 our corners inside the box or it would be better to curve them??? OPTION 1: OPTION 2: Can you explain me please? 2007 Peugeot 206 1400cc 75hpHead Unit: Pioneer DEH 80PRSSpeakers+Tweeters Amplifier: 2 x Hifonics Colossus Generation X3Bass Amplifiers: 2 x Taramps HD8000 (quadraple copper terminals by Toolmaker Metalworkz)Tweeters: 6 x Digital Designs VO-B2 + 4 x Beyma CP21/fMidrange Speakers: 20 x 8" Beyma 8M100 NdSubwoofers: 2 x Digital Designs 9918 walledAlternators: Mechman 320A universal + Bosch 260ARCA: Dragster OFC twisted triple shieldedWires: 0gauge big3 upgrade with SP audio, Currents with SP audio, Grounds with Rockford FosgateBatteries: 980AH of power with copper rails.Alarm: Python 5303P So far 161.4 dB with a Cadence 9kW @ Salamina 2014.
revoracing247 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 can't see the pics but it's better to round the corners. the point of the 45 is to make not as many harsh corners in the box and especially in the port it;s there so the port stays as close to the intended area as posisble (making sure not to bottle neck it of course) so rounding them all out is better then 45's cause you have almost no harsh edges and in the port if you do it right the port area will stay completely constant all the way out. someone correct me if im wrong ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
206xtreme Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Any other opinions? pleaseeee? 2007 Peugeot 206 1400cc 75hpHead Unit: Pioneer DEH 80PRSSpeakers+Tweeters Amplifier: 2 x Hifonics Colossus Generation X3Bass Amplifiers: 2 x Taramps HD8000 (quadraple copper terminals by Toolmaker Metalworkz)Tweeters: 6 x Digital Designs VO-B2 + 4 x Beyma CP21/fMidrange Speakers: 20 x 8" Beyma 8M100 NdSubwoofers: 2 x Digital Designs 9918 walledAlternators: Mechman 320A universal + Bosch 260ARCA: Dragster OFC twisted triple shieldedWires: 0gauge big3 upgrade with SP audio, Currents with SP audio, Grounds with Rockford FosgateBatteries: 980AH of power with copper rails.Alarm: Python 5303P So far 161.4 dB with a Cadence 9kW @ Salamina 2014.
Jessica Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Flare the port exit can help. I can't tell if you if 45's will help or not. The air in the port is going to move in and out regardless. There is a thread around where where someone tried like a jillion things like 45's and stuff and measured gains and losses on a termlab. I can't seem to find it though Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. 206xtreme Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 I have seen this thread! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/98191-spl-gains-updates-on-page-16-slot-flares/ Had bookmarked it.... 2007 Peugeot 206 1400cc 75hpHead Unit: Pioneer DEH 80PRSSpeakers+Tweeters Amplifier: 2 x Hifonics Colossus Generation X3Bass Amplifiers: 2 x Taramps HD8000 (quadraple copper terminals by Toolmaker Metalworkz)Tweeters: 6 x Digital Designs VO-B2 + 4 x Beyma CP21/fMidrange Speakers: 20 x 8" Beyma 8M100 NdSubwoofers: 2 x Digital Designs 9918 walledAlternators: Mechman 320A universal + Bosch 260ARCA: Dragster OFC twisted triple shieldedWires: 0gauge big3 upgrade with SP audio, Currents with SP audio, Grounds with Rockford FosgateBatteries: 980AH of power with copper rails.Alarm: Python 5303P So far 161.4 dB with a Cadence 9kW @ Salamina 2014.
206xtreme Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Neither That's another option I had. Some advised me not to do it because it will lower my spl number. Some others claim that the saw their number rising after rounding the corners. What should I do? I mean is it really helpful? Or it might act oppositely? 2007 Peugeot 206 1400cc 75hpHead Unit: Pioneer DEH 80PRSSpeakers+Tweeters Amplifier: 2 x Hifonics Colossus Generation X3Bass Amplifiers: 2 x Taramps HD8000 (quadraple copper terminals by Toolmaker Metalworkz)Tweeters: 6 x Digital Designs VO-B2 + 4 x Beyma CP21/fMidrange Speakers: 20 x 8" Beyma 8M100 NdSubwoofers: 2 x Digital Designs 9918 walledAlternators: Mechman 320A universal + Bosch 260ARCA: Dragster OFC twisted triple shieldedWires: 0gauge big3 upgrade with SP audio, Currents with SP audio, Grounds with Rockford FosgateBatteries: 980AH of power with copper rails.Alarm: Python 5303P So far 161.4 dB with a Cadence 9kW @ Salamina 2014.
tacomaguy1 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 You wont notice a difference to the ear...I don't care what people say In spl it can either hurt or help, but again if it helps it won't be a huge difference Team Flex Issues
206xtreme Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 So you believe that it's worthless the effort and might harm while I am trying to improve my scores. tacomaguy1 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 If you have access to a termlab you can test before and after If its louder leave it in, if not take it out If its strictly daily its not needed Team Flex Issues
