Blow through question!

So, I was talking with my dad about a blow through, and this is his exact quote "Aslong as you live under my roof, you will not destroy a truck like that." He said that it takes out all of the strength in the cab. Is he right?? any way to make it stronger if blow through do this?

The back wall of a truck is a pretty big structural point on a truck. You could get some square steel tubing and fab up some braces that go around the cutout if you really wanted. I'm not sure how much it would actually help, though.

I was thinking the same thing kinda, but would just add a steel sheet to the back of it. If that makes sense? and weld it on.

with just local experience ive had while talkin to people with blowthroughs, theres usually more problems than not. ive never got brave enough to try it. just throw as many subs behind the seat as i can to still have proper airspace and have no leg room lol

Well, I have not got a truck yet. But it would either be a Chevy luv, or a Datsun 620. Both of which have NO room behind the seat lol

I have also had this idea, Weld a metal box to the cab that is 'free floating' in the bed sort of like a blow through but you dont need a boot and it wouldnt really destroy the structure of the cab. and put your sub box in that box

i understand. i have a 97 f150 so im sure mine has way more room. theres no way a luv would be able to have anything decent behind the seat lol

I've seen a few blow through mini trucks in town that have been around awhile. I would bet as long as it was braced decent you wouldn't have problems. But this is why I love my chevy avalanche, already designed for blow through. Lol. My brother use to have a luv truck, that thing would have been a fun build.

Im a sucker for older mini trucks that are lowered/slammed, I've always wanted one. Just got to get the damn truck first! lol

i have a blowthrough and its not that bad.. a 3/4 mdf should make it even more solid then stock
