scooter99 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 So here's what I've tried. First test. Cut the antenna wire off. So the blue and white from the head unit is just on the remote wire to the back. = Nothing So I grabbed a different wire, same stuff but what was left over. Went to the remote off the head unit. = Nothing Went to the ignition source at the head unit, works cause the head unit is on. = Nothing So I thought maybe it was the wire. So I grabbed different wire. Same thing went to the ignition source at the head unit. = NOTHING So then I thought maybe let's try to go right to the 12v at the head unit. = NOTHING So now I'm getting pissed! Took the wire, keep in mind it's like 25' long. Went to the back, and touched the battery bank in back. POWERS RIGHT UP!! SO now I'm stumped. I tried the lighter ignition, head unit ignition, front battery (which granted was not a great connection), and nothing. But if I touch the rear battery bank, right next to the relay, it powers up. WHAT IN THE HOLY MONKEY FUCKS!!!! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Ok so I went back out. Ran a line outside the car to the front into the extra switch on the dash. I took the original wire that I ran for remote, and hooked it to the other side. BOOM Powers right up. Here's the part that's funny. I cut the ignition wire, to get to it, thinking I'll just tap it to go to the switch. Doesn't work. I took my DMM and put it on the ignition wire, and it's reading 11.93. Car isn't on, just acc mode. Then I take it and put it on the 12v at the head unit, and it reads the same thing. Then I took it and put it on the line from the rear battery, and I'm getting a 3.84v reading. WHAT THE FUCK? SO at this point I'm going to run another line up to the front, to that switch, and then I'll just have to use that until I can figure out what in the hell is going on. I'm so stumped I can't even explain to you. This makes no sense!! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 My other thought is to run a line straight from that rear battery, to the power of the deck, and see if that changes anything. It just doens't make any sense. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build

thefourth Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I take it you found the problem. Lol Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
