K_SubieXT
Does anyone know of an amp that will be stable and do only around 1200 rms at a half ohm on decent electrical? A friend of mine has 2 d2 subs but is on a budget so I thought I would see if there was an amp he could get to run half ohm instead of spending more on an amp that does 1200 at 2 My 95 Jeep Cherokee Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/157643-1995-jeep-cherokee-build-sub-is-in-and-playing/
SnowDrifter
Well. You'd spend about the same to get a nice enough amp that will handle .5 as you will finding a small large enough one that will do the power at 2. What's your budget? edit: words>me ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Sosebee
I have an alpine pdx-m12 that is rated at 1200 watts at 4 ohm. I run a SA-15 D2 on it just fine all day. have it wired to 2 ohm. Have had the amp for over a year and never had a problem with it. 2005 Chevy Colorado Pioneer avic-x930bt Alpine pdx-m12 Alpine pdx-f4 Focal is 165 Focal ic 165 Sundown SA 15 D4 Kicker 0/1 OFC power wire Kicker 12 awg speaker wire XS Power D2400 DC Power 270 H/O Alt

Nikitaaa
Find a used cresendo bc2000 and set gains low. It's better to run a bigger amp at a lower gain then clipping a smaller amp. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw
K_SubieXT
Would maybe a solid 1k amp do roughly 1200 at .5? kl0wn
If you're friend is being this cheap on an amp, I don't see him having the electrical to back the amp up. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
Sosebee
just save up for a decent amp, not worth putting the strain on the electrical and the amp to run at .5. 2005 Chevy Colorado Pioneer avic-x930bt Alpine pdx-m12 Alpine pdx-f4 Focal is 165 Focal ic 165 Sundown SA 15 D4 Kicker 0/1 OFC power wire Kicker 12 awg speaker wire XS Power D2400 DC Power 270 H/O Alt
iKidwell
if he's got the electrical and wants to stay cheap i'd do one of the hifonics brutus amps, not sure on the smallest one they make anymore, but i had the bxi1610 and ran it .5 daily for about 4 months and never had any issues with it at all. You could probably use an audiopipe as well c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
