I'm going to be honest and tell y'all I've never even been to TN. I went there and got fireworks one time and came back to KY ha, lets just say I don't get out much. Where do you all recommend staying at in the gatlinburg area? Going to be going early-mid February 2013 for he wife's birthday as a surprise. Let me know some good things to do there also, and places to eat I've only seen pictures of friends trips there ha kinda sad. Thanks SMD

It is a short drive to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cades Cove, etc. But it's off the main area of "tourist" stuff so you an relax and enjoy yourself Man I'm glad I didn't lock this I get to witness two retards holding hands telling each other that it'll be ok because they are awesome.

Food: the apple barn in pigeon forge was good. 727Designs Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 I prefer to actually just get a hotel fairly close to the main road. Gatlinburg is a great place to visit, but you'll want to walk around town, not try to deal with traffic and find parking especially this time of year. Not to mention the parking isn't cheap. There are several nice hotels right there that aren't too bad. Met my dad there, he trailered his bike up from FL. Talk about getting over any fear quick . . Some of those backwoods mountain roads will get you over any confidence issues quick. On on side the mountain is straight up, and the other is straight down. Some places were missing guard rails, not that they would do you any good though. I found another one, has anybody heard anything good or bad about Patriot Getaways? My mom booked with them before on Christmas Day and she got 50% off a big ass cabin. And glockman513, what might be over there in Cherokee? Never been to NC either, I don't get out much. Haha
