WillPwn4Food Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 So im having a personal problem... I currently have a 2001 Taurus and 2 15" Fi n2's in the trunk. I have subs facing into cabin (pull down seats) and port facing driver's side of vehicle in the trunk. Well the box is so big it's nearly sealing the port in the trunk(as in no air movement around edges of box except in the trunk.) I can't make the box smaller. It's already as small as I can make it. Would it be beneficial to run 2 12's and have subs AND port firing into the cabin for spl? Any and all input welcome. Thanks. As well if anyone has any input on 2 12's that are around 2kw each that'd be great. Other option would be 1 15" = 4kw? wcefai Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 I would go with 2 12s sealed from trunk and firing into cabin. But thats just my opinion because i like the way that looks. You could do 1 15" but 4k is a lot for one n2 (n3 would be better) and 2 12" have more cone area than a single 15
Trey_Dog650 Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 Yes the 12's would allow a smaller box and having everything forward and sealed is usually loudest. Maybe some mayhems since you already have fi 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.

WillPwn4Food Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Posted December 8, 2012 But then wouldn't the box essentially be sealed? WillPwn4Food Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Posted December 8, 2012 @n8 I realize that. Hence why I asked if 2 12's would work better. And I couldnt move the port anywhere other than straight back or to the other side of the trunk. Regardless, it'll still be pretty much sealed off. n8ball2013 Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 yeah in your case it would be a better idea to downsize your woofers in order to get any airflow. You could recone your 15s to 12s.
