soundstream15 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Deadening your trunk. No need for the whole car unless you really want to, also did you do the big 3?
Swordlordboy1234 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Deadening does wonders.... I did once section at a time to really get an understanding for it as quickly as I could. My front doors have 3 sheets of 60mil audio Technix. It made a huge mid bass difference and made Rock sound like rock, not some bullshit playing on a crappy loud speaker system. So much warmer, and got rid of back waves hitting my cone and causing distortion. My rear doors have no speakers in them, only thing deadening them did was make it close a bit less like a tin can and a bit more like a door. My trunk was foamed to the top with great stuff window and cracks, let me tell you that sure gave my trunk some backbone. Helped a lot with "brute forcing" the bass to stay in the car. Then I have 2 layers of deadener on the trunk 100% coverage. That made a huge rattle difference. Finally I took my head liner down and the sunroof too and put 1 full layer 100% coverage. What a huge difference. No more rattle on any note, bass sounds like bass.... Not what freq it's making your metal hit each other! Lol The roof and the trunk lid made the biggest improvements of more sound and less rattle. The sides and rear of the trunk helped slightly. The floor of the trunk was useless, so was the rear doors. And the front doors helped for front speakers only. Hope that helps with the deadening aspect.
