Pasta Prime Posted December 23, 2012 Report Share Posted December 23, 2012 So after having a droid for 2 years i picked up the windows phone and immediately wanted it. So i got the Nokia Lumia 822 from verizon. I liked it better because it was thicker than the HTC they offer. Now with that being said I have had this phone about 3 weeks now and its so fast at everything; streams bluetooth files 5 times fast than my Droid X, runs smooth, and when an app isnt in use it shuts it down. Great phone and Nokia city lense is cool as hell. You just tap what you want to find, like places to eat and it used the camera to show where things are. So if you point in one direction it shows you whats that way and how far. Then you can just tap and navigate. Very cool phone so far and I love the live tiles. Now with anything new there are some downsides. The apps leave much to be desired. I know this when i bought it and I am sure the windows market will soon be flooded with quality apps like android and apple. Until then there are very few choice for good apps. Facebook is ok and it is getting better with each update. There are som features android didn't have that i like better. The side scrolling and being able to tap the newsfeed button and it gives you a options menu. They also got my favorite craigslist app and now I am notified again when there are new postings for whatever Im searching for. cPro+craigslist client As for games; there arent many popular games out yet. Or at least ones i like to play such as bike race and hill climb. Though there are angry birds and an ever growing collection of xbox games. Some free and some not. Now, that being said, being able to link your xbox account to your phone and use your phone as an xbox remote is bad ass. Searces on xbox youtube are so much easier with the phone and you can link them and use the youtube app on the phone and play it on the xbox. The best thing about the Windows phone and what sold me was the ability to play xbox games and get achievments. That just makes the game that much more exciting. Gues that was a little long winded but I know these are the things I would have liked to know about the phone before i bought it. New build coming........ There have been no notable advancements made in the app department. Apps just arent coming to windows phone. Every app is made by microsoft and or a 12 year old in middle school. The only good thing about the games available are the xbox ones and there arent many that aren't 3 - 7 dollars. We just had a system update for this phone a couple days ago and everything has gone from bad to worse. Wifi wont connect automatically unless i shut off the phone, nor will it disconnect when i leave the wifi range unless i shut it off. There are still a few features that i like but the functionality, or should I say non-functionality of 99% of the apps make it a useless device. Whats the point in paying for data if it to much of a hassle to use. Thought I would update my review and rant a little and warn everyone to stay away from a windows phone. New build coming........ Windows trying to be a technology boss and be involved in every thing technology has to offer. Think about it. First they were just computers. Then they moved to gaming. Now phones and tablets. What's next? Soon, it'll be televisions or something with cars. Just like Sony... making a little bit of everything. I do have to say though, Microsoft seems to gain a big part of the market of whatever they're doing then move onto something else. They never rush shit. They'll rush the manufacturing of said product (look at the 360) but they won't keep pumping out new things such as new consoles or stuff every 2-3 years. As far as the phones? It's still new. And I'd have to say since it's Microsoft? Bad customer review (I guess would be the way to say it). They make alright phones (not necessarily their phone but their OS on it), but they don't listen to people as to what the people want. Notice what Samsung did? Came out with the S1 and listened to people. What did they like, what didn't they like? S2. Same thing. Why else you think the S4 will be practically the highest anticipated phone?
