Ryya
So I have never done a build log on a big forum like this before... but I figure I will start with a video I made recently of my system. I have a ton of pictures I've taken and I'll post some up in a little bit here. I'm hoping I can get some feedback after I post up all my pics of what I should do next. Enjoy! Ryya
My baby. I've got an 18% tint going all the way around, but other than that no other external modifications. Brutus Brz1700.1d mouned on the right of the trunk Zeus 800.4 mounted on the left of the trunk Tsunami 1/0awg and 4awg power and ground My Build Log - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6 2.8L
Ryya
Shot of the power/ground and rca's in the trunk With the spare tire back in place. Fits perfect. Old battery coming out of the car. Gotta love my ingenuity on the space holder. New terminals to reattach wiring to new battery. Yes! (You'll see I end up changing this out later on in the build) Helping hand from the lady 13.86 charging, 12.6 resting. Better then before but I guess it will have to do for now. Got mad at head-unit... threw it and stomped it. 3.5mm aux input with this clarion to the amps. You'll see I throw a HU back into the mix soon. Ryya
I'm trying to keep everything in order, here's some more pics. Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X395 Kenwood w/ 4v outs Infinity 55w speakers powered off the 4-channel. They came with these really sick adapter rings with foam padding that I ended up using. Some sound dampening for the doors Bolted the piece of door card that holds the handle in place for extra sturdyness. Sometimes you just gotta bolt some shit in. Put all back together. Excuse the dirtyness I should I have taken the picture after I wiped it clean. Sound is more important to me anyways ;D Dampening for the rear deck. Made a HUGE difference. And a little present for myself for later. Foam padding! (for the deck) My Build Log - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6 2.8L
Ryya
More stuff done! The old padding on my rear tail lite The back side of the tail lite with old padding Re padded with the good stuff! This lite was a huge vibration issue for me so I hit it good with the damp and the foam Half way foam padded... Completed the foam padding on the read deck Close up shot Added a strip to the back of the rear deck panel on that plastic so it won't rattle against the back window All done and ready for the car again Everything put back together What do you guys think so far??? Ryya
Update! Got some goodies in the mail. 25 feet of 1/0awg, 25 feet of 4awg and a fuse holder. I'm going to be doing my big three as well as replacing my cheap tsunami 1/0awg that i have going to the back where the amps are. I was going to use the fuse holder pictured to fuse the positive wire right after the battery to the back by the amps and replace the old one, but now im wondering if i should keep the old fuse holder in place and use this one to fuse the alternator positive to the battery? is it really necessary to fuse that wire? I have a stock alt right now if that matter. My Build Log - 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6 2.8L
