  1. I ordered a replacement harness for my DD-1 Thursday night. There was no info pertaining to shipping time to Canada. I tried calling, leaving a voicemail, and emailing D'Amore Engineering, all with no response. How long can I expect shipping and delivery to take for my replacement harness to make it to Canada (T5R ***)?
  2. Any more reviews on these earbuds? I want to get a pair to replace some tired-ass iPhone earbuds but am now unsure after reading some of these comments
  3. I ran into a previously unrecognized woofer depth problem so here is another design. I think I finally have what I want. Please check it out and give me some feedback!
  4. I am still tinkering with numbers...but I have a question If I am going with design 1. (see first/original post) in regards to woofer placement, the ass end of my woofer (Alpine SWR-1541) will be facing the internal port wall. I am running into a slight issue with the mounting depth of the woofer and the internal port wall. My woofer is vented(?) on the ass end/magnet (pole venting?). How much room is required between the vented magnet of the woofer and the internal port wall, I have heard around 1 inch, but would like other input Edit: Here is the design question from my original post... I would like to pose the question again, which design is best, considering the length my slot port runs internally along the back wall. Ideally, I would like to go with design 3, as it would make life easier for me calculating this enclosure, save me a bit of cargo space, as well as I like this design most aesthetically. Will I experience significant losses in going with design 3 instead of design 1?
  5. unless I'm wrong, you forgot to change the port height AB18VFL. Thanks for your input, I'm trying to balance quite a bit and with this being my first ported build i want to make sure I'm taking steps in the right direction. I listen to pretty much everything. For sure a good chunk of dubstep and rap/hip hop, but i still would like some musical capability for other genres, though they get a slight bit less playing time in my Jeep
  6. No I don't. Ideally, I'd like this box to slam some lows, but still be musical for rock, metal, and other genres. Anything is going to be better than my 42hz tuned prefab in use at the moment. Thanks for the advice 412 you're really helping me out. I'll go see what numbers I can throw together. Any other advice would be much appreciated
  7. How is this lookin' then? Edit: Also, my woofer mounting depth is a sliver under 9 inches. if the ass end of the woofer is pointing towards the port wall (along the internal back side of the box), there will only be just over an inch of gap between the magnet and port wall. Is this acceptable?
  8. Thanks 412, back to your statement on shooting for 3.5 cubes net...I realize that I have low power, but that seems like a loooooot of volume. Manufacturer specs are ported box volume: 1.5-3.0 cubic feet, with an optimum volume of 2.25 cubes. I am unsure about this, as compared to your knowledge of box design and building. Edit: poor choice of wording
  9. Thanks. Will I run into signifigant problems using design 3 versus design one (where the sub will not have the wall of the port behind it, but rather the back wall of the enclosure with the port ending off to the side)? What is the advantage or theory behind design 1?
  10. I just want to clarify and learn all I can, as this is my first ported box build. You two have been speaking about port ratio, and port area per cubic foot. Is that not the number that comes out of the bar "Port area per foot" on Torres? I was under the impression that it was, and understand the need to have at least 15" per cubic foot, therefore I thought mine calculated out to 16.21 sq in. per cubic ft...Am I doing something wrong?
  11. Torres, do you mean that design 1 from my image is the best choice? considering he portt will run internally along the back wall quite a distance. I forgot to mention that this is going into the cargo area of my Jeep Cherokee. Not a car/trunk. I am trying to keep the depth as small as possible to perserve as much cargo space as I can
  12. Hey everybody. If you could please review my measurements and calculations in Torres' Calculator and let me know if I am on the right track. it would be much appreciated. Building a box for a single 15" Alpine Type R. SWR-1541 powered by about 400w ALSO... I have a question about woofer placement on my design. It is going to be a rear firing and rear facing slot ported box, with 3 common port walls. Where should the woofer be located on the face of the box. If you could take a look at the image below and let me know the best design taking into account my rather long port running along the back inside wall of the enclosure. Ideally, I'd like to use design #3, as I will have to play around with my measurements if I have to use either of the first two designs... Thanks!
  13. That is one of the first things that came to mind. I installed a Kicker 250.1 just a couple weeks ago in a friends truck and that switch was there. Was that switch a feature in the 2006 model (quite sure that is what is for sale, with the gain+frequency dials on the top plate) I can't seem to find it and am starting to assume it wasn't a feature in the 06 model
  14. Yeah it's online for $100 OBO, and when I texted him and ask he specifically said make me an offer. Would it be a good idea to unhook my bass amp and wire up the 350.4 to make sure it actually works if I go and see this guy? Thanks for helping this noob out
  15. Thats kinda how I'm feeling. What would you pay for a used ZX350.4 (its the older model by the way)???
  16. ^ Thanks strangeduck. Regardless dude I'm up in Canada so shipping anything across the border is less than ideal... I thought it might be an installation error, but still am unsure. Any other theories/advice/ideas??
  17. Awesome thanks for the assist fellas!
  18. How necessary are 45's in a slot port corner?? What exactly would be the benefit of having them, or negative of not having them. As a side note, it'll be a low power scenario (300w) and either 2 10's or 1 15. Thanks!
