Been trying to finish up college and all that fun stuff so haven't really messed around with audio in a long while. Being home for Christmas break though guy came to my dads shop (he owns a window tint and stereo shop) wanting some stereo stuff in his Camaro. Figured since i hadn't messed around with wood or anything in a long while, id mess around with this and see what i could come up with. The guy didn't want anything crazy, i tried talking him into doing 3 Sundown 8's but he wanted to stick with one ten. So we ended up deciding that he wanted to go all Rockford Fosgate with the following equipment: T165 6.5" speakers for Kick panels T1693 6X9 For the back deck T400-4 amp for door speakers P500-1BD For sub 10" P3 Dual 2 ohm sub Custom Box tuned to 34 hz Also doing a false floor in the trunk, wanted to hide the amps under the false floor and router out holes for them and then plexi them and light them with LED's but like i said he wanted simple and not go crazy on the price. Personally i would have also done mid bass drivers in the back deck as well but he insisted on 6x9's so thats the route I'm going. But onto the pictures: The false floor was all cut as one piece but to fit in the car i had to separate into 3 different pieces. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to rap this thing in carpet? I could always rap them in 3 separate pieces but then you would be able to see the 2 seams, so I'm trying to figure out a way to make it all one piece, but it still has to be able to fit in the trunk. Thats the progress I've made so far, as you can see i still have some trimming to do on the false floor due to the trunk floor having different humps and raises in it so to get it to sit down evenly as you can tell one side had to be longer than the other. But i still need to finish the box and then carpet it all. Like i said I've been out of the audio game for awhile so i definitely could use some input if anyone sees anything, they think i could do differently.

Was able to carpet the pieces for the false floor, ended up doing them in 3 separate pieces that way, if for any reason, the false floor need to be taken out to work on the car we wouldn't have to tear true carpet completely off. Also finished piecing the box together and painted the port, still needs to be carpeted but its some progress at least. These are the side panels for the false floor. Turned out decent. Was just checking out how the amps looked in here like this, not to sure on the setup yet.

JustinWillmon Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 Still just have to clean up the wiring in the back so you won't see any of the wiring, screw the amps down, and finish mounting the stereo and it'll be done. Sounds really good though, pretty impressed with the single 10.

Wasn't a huge build like most on here but i think it turned out nice and simple for a classic car. Finished cutting the dash and getting the deck installed. and finished running the wiring and putting the seats back in. Also tinted the windows whileI had it in the shop and think it made it look a lot cleaner. When the car came to me it had never had a stereo installed and now that its done I'm pretty impressed with the sound. Made sure all the amps were set with the DD-1 and really enjoying it, the sub adds in just the right amount of bass for most songs and will really get to banging for a single 10 when rap or anything is played. But on to the pictures. After tinting the windows Pulled the cars out the red one is a 69 convertible and the blue is a 68. All finished up with the blue one, the red one is the next project I'm getting started on in the morning.
