SGT_76
I think your net volume is a little small. SIde note: My Torres doesn't look like that, did he put out a new version? Couldn't tell you about any Torres updates cause im new to all of this lol, sry. As for volume, I started out at around 2.3 but was told too big and to try around 1.8. You say 1.8ish is to small, and others say just right??? My question is... Is it mostly personal preference or is there other information (besides the manufacturers sugested box sizes) that you guys are using to achieve your recommendations? SGT_76
Net, tune and port size is prefect I issue port height is 10.5" With a 12" height sub up and double baffle Port height need to be 9.75 Or height need to be 12.75 Other then that everything on the side is what you want to aim for In order to get port area back above 28"sq. using a port height of 9.75", I'd have to increase port width to 3". Doing that makes things a bit tight in the chamber for woofer placement, especially on the left side. Since port tune and size are "good", what effect will it have with the port height being 10.5" and the chamber height being 9.75"? Thx.
john253a
it not that if you box is 12" high and you double baffle the top and single the bottom the internal measurements of the box is 9.75x28x17.5 so you port height can't be 10.5" unless you can make the box 12.75" high giving you a port height of 10.5 there is one other way of giving you a 10.5" port on a 12" box and thats to only double baffle the area upto the port and leave infront of port and in port at single baffle if that is the case then all is ok edit after looking at your drawings it seems that, that is how you have drawn it s youll have close to and extra 0.01cuft of displacement the sa8v2 also have a displacement of .1 each and not 0.08 and your bracing if you use 3/4" and only alow 1" width is only 0.02cuft so change sub dis to 0.3 and bracing to 0.01 (-0.02 +0.01= -0.01) so with that that brings you box to 1.8cuft net and 32.17hz if you want you can also drop the length of port to 33" giving you [email protected] if it doest effect sub poison thats what idd do/run
STEALTH808
im actually worried about your soundstage. make sure you tone down those neopros coming from the rear. SGT_76
im actually worried about your soundstage. make sure you tone down those neopros coming from the rear. If I could find a nice tweeter that would go good with the Neo's, and it was a good size (not too big) to integrate into the door panel, I'd just go with Neo's F&R and run them active. SGT_76
*To John* - Yes that was what I originally did with the double baffle. Ok well I did another slight revision on the box dimensions, the main bracing, added a full double baffle and corner bracing for airflow enhancement. Wht do you all think? john253a
bracing is 0.02, just for the centre brace get rid of the 3x courner pieces in the net area like so
