Best way to power tower speakers??

Recommended Posts

Alright so I build 2 towers for my dorm room. I have them set up so that each tower has a tweeter (highs), 6.5 woofer (mid bass), and a 15" subwoofer (lows). It's a pretty straight forward build but as of right now I just have them hooked up to an old Sony Receiver. Been trying to figure out how to get them a little bit of power? I was looking at a couple home amps but they're mostly only 2 channel amps. If anybody has any ideas or some builds they'd like to share the help would definitely be appreciated.

I know I don't really go throught the electrical system in the log(not yet at least) but if you've any questions on using the PSU's feel free to ask

Depends what your budget is mate. Give us a guideline.

You could look into some plate amp, or maybe a pro audio amp? They put out a shit ton of power for a cheap price

Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.

Id like to stay away from the PSU and car audio idea, would like to stick with something more "out of the box" I guess you could say. Saw some plate amps but they seam to be more money than they're worth. Im trying to keep my budget somewhere around $100 - $200 for a power source for the system. I want to be able to power the tweets, the mid bass, and the subs.
