Also whats the difference between the DD m2a an the DD m2b. an lastly what does DD Dynamic power ratings mean. thanks guys My build 98 s10 2.2 3 american bass HD 15s with psi soft parts. (on there way here) atomic at-3000.1 (soon) 146.2 outlaw @39hz., bad alt an bad batt when termed (old 2 12" build) alpine 6.5s in doors infinty 4x6s in dash. clarion cz201 HU. mechman 240a H/O alt stuff i still need. SHCA 2/0 wire SHCA 1/0 to 2/0 adapters Atomic AT-3000.1 Lots of sound deadner new mids an highs, still debating on what to do. A few Deka g31 batts.

The m2b claims to be slightly more power, and a tad smaller in size then the m2a.... dynamic power is DDs way of saying PEAK power, but they try to mislead their potential customers by thinking its actual RMS power.

audiofanaticz Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Realistically no. Because chances are you wont have 0 voltage drop. And even if you wire the amp at 1 ohm, the impedance rise will at least be around 2 to 3 ohms when the subs are playing, however this will always be different with everyone's install (even if its the same gear). Not to mention the factor of any heat which kills the any amps efficiency. Safe to say you would be looking at a solid 1100-1700 watts rms from the amp in a musical application (and any other amp that is about the same size power in the 2300-2400 watt range). Unless of coarse your wiring the amp at .35 ohms, have no voltage drop, and all your going to be doing is playing 1 frequency test tones through your system then you maybe close to that "dynamic power" wattage.
