tlsrcs Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 so right now i have one 10w6 jl Sub running off of about 200w at 4ohms. It sounds good but not crazy loud. it can barley be herd outside of the truck. its a single cab and its between the two seats firing straight up. i was wondering if buying a bigger amp would make it pound harder? Or option b would be keep the same amp for now and get a sundown E8V2D2 then eventually get one or two more and a bigger amp....does anyone have a suggestion on what to do to get my truck to POUND with what i can DO?
STEvil Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 what kind of enclosure are you using? MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
tlsrcs Posted January 20, 2013 Author Report Posted January 20, 2013 right now its in a kicker bass tube lol...i know its not awsome i just want to get my subs figured out then i am going to fiberglass a center console ingratiating the sub/s into it.
tlsrcs Posted January 20, 2013 Author Report Posted January 20, 2013 ?so i guess to add to the question i will build the console to the spec of the subs. but do you guys suggest ported, sealed or mounted upside down?
CleanSierra Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 What kind of regular cab are we talking about? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
tlsrcs Posted January 20, 2013 Author Report Posted January 20, 2013 Like an old datsun.... Small but I've been designing a extension to the cab basically making it a little bigger for subs and an amp rack.

bassinyerface Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Ported definitely ported it of course if you can fit it. What's your dimensions you can fit? 2003 f150, 2 ab hd 15 on brutus 2400.1, kinetik batt, big 3, knu wire, image dynamics cxs 6.5 with ppi tweets, pioneer 1din and clarion eq.
Guest Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 how come you WANT to be heard outside your truck? you should be happy about how it sounds when you're on the inside, not the outside. everybodys definition of "pound" etc, is different. for me personally, you'd have to be in the 150's for me to think its "loud". a guy down the street may think a single 8 on 100w is loud.
SubbinBlazer Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Get a better enclosure and eventually buy a better/stronger amplifier and if you're still not satisfied, buy another subwoofer. I have a 1,000 W RMS @ 2 OHM amp laying around PM me if you're intrested. just another sig.
