Alpine head unit 75% volume, loudness off and "0" on all settings. clarion eq with master volume and sub volume at max. all other settings at 0. output voltage is 45.2ac with subs unhooked. the sub Im running is Obsidian Audio 12d2 wired at 1 ohm. Turned gain back down till I was around 25 v ac. Big-A Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 amp is rated at 600 into 1 ohm and the tech guys at ARC told me they were seeing at least 700 rms. If im reading the chart right should my output voltage be around 26-27 for 700 rms? 2004 Dodge Ram Head unit- Alpine iDA-x305s Sound processor- Clarion eqs746 Mids/Highs amp- Alpine MRV-F345 Sub Amp- Alpine MRD-M1005 Dash Speakers- (3) Dayton Audio rs75 Front Door- Skar SPX65c Rear fill- Skar SPX tweters and Dayton ND140 midbass Sub- Fi Audio SSD 15 high QTS SHCA power/ground cables and Stinger interconnect XS power D6500 under the hood and D680 in the amp rack Big 3+ with SHCA http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161174-dodge-ram-quad-cab-fi-ssd15-skar-audio-alpine-shca/?p=2326251
Guest Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 does this happen when idling? where is your ground? is the paint sanded off? are you using 4 gauge?
Guest Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 46v into 1 ohm is 2000 watts. you're clipping the ever living FUCKING SHIT out of that amplifier. like 2/3rds of the amps output is straight up distortion.
Big-A Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 Thats what I thought but I swear there is no audible distortion what so ever? The sub is in the truck in a console box and i have had my ear right next to the sub with no distortion heard?
