start of the center console:

than my roommate (who owns the truck) was talking about how he wanted to do plexiglass somewhere and we were trying to figure out where it should go. shorty after that, it dawned on me that it should go right in the top of the armrest. so thats exactly what i did.

IMAG0657-1_zps17460823.jpg

IMAG0656-1_zps080a3a2d.jpg

then i got the box altogether and sealed, and i painted the inside where you can see through the window white and did a test fit in the truck.

IMAG0672-1_zps7b119922.jpg

oh, we also bought a mirror to put in the bottom of the box where you see through the window.

IMAG0673-1_zps32bdfa00.jpg

and he wanted a white strobe light in it so i got that all wired up and installed. it really draws attention to the box when its on!!!

IMAG0674-1_zps8f593d48.jpg

and then he wanted blue leds in the box to light it up at night.

IMAG0675-1_zpsba55463e.jpg

then i loaded the subs in the truck and wired up the amp because i wanted to know how the box sounds.

The reason i wanted to install the box before it was finished is because i wanted to make sure it sounded good and that it all fit properly.

it was a really tight fit, and the center subs actually touched the seats barely....but the seating position was nice and comfortable-which was good. so i went ahead and cut another piece of wood to go on the inside of the center console and used my router to sink the subs about 1/2 inch into the box per sub. that made it clear just perfectly. so if you notice in the future pics that the subs are closer together than they started, thats why.

oh, and btw, the box sounds excellent and is louder than i thought it was going to be. it plays sooo low lol. i cant wait to get it metered. the last setup in this truck was a single xl 15 on 2200 watts and that did a 145 at 35 hz. this is substantially louder.

so i went ahead and pulled the box and started on the amp rack.

oh, and just in case you all wanted to know, i fill all of my kerfs with wood glue before i bend them in.

then i got the side panels cut for it:

then i got the speaker holes cut:

the truck also had roll up windows so we ordered the autoloc kit and installed it. its a nice kit, except it seems like the window motors are way to power hungry for the wires that they supply with the kit. when i run the windows, and put a meter on the window switch, it drops around 2 volts from where ive got my relay wired up under the dash.

IMAG0855-1_zps04c9116b.jpg

IMAG0857-1_zps25481ca7.jpg

than i got the headliner pulled because we ordered suede for it from the same place we ordered material for the box.
