  1. I have recently started my build and am in the asthetics stages, i will be redoing my headliner, making fiberglass door panels and doing all my electrical. I am still undecided on what subwoofers to install, i have a 2003 tahoe with the third row of seats removed so i dont think that room is an issuefor the box size. I am thinking 2 15"s and i really like both the Fi.BL and the Audioque HDC315. I want to get loud and would like to keep the price around 350$ a woofer. I also know there are a lot of DC fans on here but i have never researched there products. if you have any input on which one you suggest or what you like from experience that would be much appreciated. I am 18 and this is my first major build and its on my daily driver car so the subs need to be able to play day in and day out. thanks.
  2. I designed a box for a Soundqubed HDC3 18 that will fit in the back of my Mazda pick up. It will be running off a Cadence 2500.1 (1200rms) with stock electrical but will be doing the big 3 very soon. Opinions? Here are the specs: 7.98Ft^3 Net Volume 32.74Hz tuning W- 50in D- 18in H- 23in Port- H- 16.5in W-6.75in Length- 23in 14in^2 of port area per foot Driver displacement is included w/ bracing
  3. 02 Honda Accord. Box will be built facing in and sealed off. I am getting a SQ2200d and a hdc312, but I’m not sure if I should run two off that amp. Wired at 1ohm.
  4. So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up. My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being: HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4 Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps. Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. I'll post pictures as i go through the install. edit: fixed the pictures
  5. I recently got an hdc4 in a pro box, its the super bass edition, therefore its a 2.25^3 box tuned at 40HZ i believe. but im looking to build one. Im running it off of a v-power 2k at 2ohms, should i go bigger with the box... volume wise? more port area? im wanting to hit some good numbers for the power im working with. its in a 02 lancer 4 door. Thanks!
  6. ok baiscly im wokring on a plan to build into my jeep, i just dropped the money on 4 15" HDC4 and 2 q1-4500d.1 amps... i was wondering what all would be needed in front stage to keep up with that at full tilt? i only have the front doors of a 2004 jeep grand cherokee to work with. so far im thinking 2-8" 8ohm crescendo PWX, a 6.5" 4ohm PWX and 2 FT1 4ohm tweets for EACH side. ill be running 2 Q4-90s. Ratings: SPEAKERS 8"pwx 200rms each 6.5pwx 150rms each ft1 tweet 80rms each AMP 4ohm-90rmsx4ch 2ohm-130rmsx4ch bridged 4ohm 260rmsx2ch wiring will go as listed..... LEFT DOOR 2-8" 8ohm PWX parallel to 4ohm on bridged 1/2 channel of amp 1 (260rms to the pair at 4ohms) 6" 4ohm PWX in channel 1 of amp 2 (90rms at 4ohm) 2-FT1 4ohm parallel to 2ohms on channel 3 of amp 2 RIGHT DOOR 2-8" 8ohm PWX parallel to 4ohm on bridged 3/4 channel of amp 1 (260rms to the pair at 4ohms) 6" 4ohm PWX in channel 2 of amp 2 (90rms at 4ohm) 2-FT1 4ohm parallel to 2ohms on channel 4 of amp 2 same on each door, just put to different channels VIEWS, THOUGHTS, ADVICE... all welcomed... i just wanna make sure that would be enough to keep up and hear the music or if im dead wrong. and any advice on good EQ's for the highs? and what i would tune it at. the subs will be tuned at 37hz 16.75ft^3 wall
  7. Well. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra SLT Ext cab. No pictures right now. Just got off work. Today is my birthday... Right now I have a AudioPipe 3000.1 The older one with the pipes on the front. 1ohm. Bought it for $280 at a pawn shop in Kalamazoo, Mi. As of Right now I have 2 Kicker Comps in a box I made. With my own 2 hands.. lol.. I found 2 AudioQue now known as soundqubed 18's for $250 guess What I got ripped off. Blown. So now going to order recone kits. Which I have the money on a card. Need better details on the subs to get the right recone kit. Anyways what I need from you guys is to get some box dimensions. Wall? or just a ported box? This is where I am stuck. I need the best system in the small town I live in. I like low bass. Maybe like 29-30 hz? box on the site are for 35hz this is not low enough. No Alt. No batteries Yet..
  8. Welll, when i got my car i thought this was going to be easy, well...turns out NO ONE has an install video or pics or ANYTHING about 2005+ model Volvo S40's. SOOOO i AM the only person in the world who has made a video on it and pics on how to do it. Its all at our audio team channel. LABaudio502 Check us out on youtube. I would start off by saying this is NO WHERE close to being a clean install. Its messy as hell so dont judge on that. i will be redoing it next year when i have ALL of my final equipment. (Sometime in the fall) But, this was just the starter, temp. system i installed. Im thinking about doing a custom amp rack and box in the back but i cant think of any ideas. Comment if you have any deas! Thanks! First Box: T1 when i first got it in This was some UGLY wiring Car when it was stock The blown Fi SSD 12 i aquired! Punch Pro 6.5's Installed in doors Stockk Volvo door speakers, NOT BAD AT ALL! FTW http://www.youtube.c...ser/labaudio502
  9. 2005 Dodge ram 1500 single cab. radio: Avh2300dvd (bluetooth adapter and video bypass) door speakers: crescendo pwx 8s x4 and crescendo ft1 tweeters x2 4 channel amp: audioque120.4 sub amp: audioque 2200d subs: sa 12 d4 x4 knukonceptz wiring this was what we originally came up with (some changes have been made since we started, but its the same general concept. so we started by stripping the entire truck out. and cutting out the center seat and started building: and it wasnt long before it started to take some shape went ahead and started out with some kerfing: and then after enough evenly spaced cuts, it becomes a 90 degree angle more coming now
  10. im designing and very soon building a wall for 4-HDC4 15s and would like to learn about putting 45s in all the corners to "improve airflow". now i do plan to coat the entire inside with resin and sand to either 3000 or 4000 grit for smooth as glass finish for those extra few db. but wanted to see if adding the 45 will improve the db at all, or lower port noise or anything. i have a 3D render on google sketchup of the wall and i can upload pics if requested. about the wall: -4 HDC4.0 15s -2 Q1-4500D.1 amps -16.75ft^3 net volume before woofer displacment -270in^2 port area 20" deep for 36hz tuning. -All walls will be 2x4s with mdf inside and some internal bracing -walled from the B-piller back in a 2004 jeep grand cherokee 4.7L v8 plain with no 45s render with the 45s
  11. ok, short and simple.... i have 4-hdc4 15s which i know can take 4k each fine... im stuck between the soundqubed Q1-4500d.1 and the crecendo BC3500d... both about the same price, i know the Q!-4500D.1 puts out more power over all but im trying to see if the BC3500d will put out 4k at .5 ohm? anyone have clamp tests? ill be running 2-320A alts, d6500 under the hood and 6 d7500s!!!! in the back so im not worried much about power. im sure i can keep voltage up fine. also im worried that the BC3500s dont strap so it will be harder to tune all the amps to the same power. and tuning
  12. so im thinking of doing a kinda over the top box, i have a friend that can get me 1.5" thick SOLID red oak wood counter top boards for cheap. i want to build a box for a single hdc4 (most likely) for my jeep, i would be adding in a window and sanding very smooth and staining the box. so hopefully a really nice looking solid wood dark cherry stained box with a carbon fiber sub (dust cap) i honestly dont know what space the 12" hdc4s like what im looking for: dual areos sub facing up in the center of the box ports facing back and one on each side (so the box is symmetrical) loud but more of a FLAT response for a better sounding rear stage. ***would anyone recommend a different 12" size sub for a good sound quality build. im willing to give up to 2000rms to the sub of choice. *** MAX DIMENSIONS I HAVE TO WORK WITH 45" WIDE x 16" TALL x UP TO 32" DEEP but would like to stay under 18-20" if possible
  13. Well its time i started my own personal build log, this will be my first ever documented on SMD, so everyone please be kind. I recently(within the last few months) bought myself a 2006 Trailblazer. I've been planing a build in one of these for a long time now, and now that my life is going in a good direction and that I have steady cash-flow(first salary based job for me ) I have the means to do so. I've already done a few things to it as listed in my signature, but will be posting pics ITT of what is already done and what is to come. For me this is more of a budget build ATM but has potential/ am planning on turning it into a nice ground-pounder later on in it's life. Well her she is, not too shabby. Still needs a lot of work... So keep watching this thread for more updates. Although between work and school things might be slow for the first couple weeks but i will be bumping before the end of April. If you noticed the front wheel my tire on the stock wheel basically ruptured, is still okay to mount a new wheel on but i have other plans... i forgot to take a pic from the back but its nothing special besides the over-sized ridiculous ski-doo sticker.. that will be getting removed...

  15. Hello Everyone, Introduction first: My name is Kaleb Carter, I am a 19 year old College Student at University of North Florida. I work full time for Florida Blue as well as being a full time Mechanical Engineering Student. I live in the dorms so I only get to work on my build on the weekends in my dad's garage when I'm not too bogged down with work. I drive a 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew that I had been saving up for since I was about 8 working for my dad cutting grass, cleaning houses, being a farmhand, doing landscaping, etc. It was paid off the day I had the keys in my hand. Also, I pay for my equipment 100 % though dad helps me out with materials. On to my dad, him and I are the only people that touch my truck. I've been a basshead since I was little because of him. He used to be a professional installer (before I came along) so I was bumping in the womb in his show car. He helps me out a lot with installs and I try to learn as much as I can so that someday maybe I can know more than him some day. (I don't think it'll happen) Anyways, enough with that, let's get y'all some pictures! 16. What's up everybody? Here is the build I recently started. I'm running 4 DC Level 3 15's in a 4th order wall. Right now, I will just be running everything off an AQ 3500.1 but I will soon add another... The box is Jeff Smith (Corona_Jeff) old box. I was lucky enough to get this box, so now I am trying to make it look good. The box was built and designed by Trent Choate (tctdh11) and Jeff. Also I want to give a huge thank you to Trent Choate and Cole Decker for helping me with this build. Trent has been teaching me a lot along the way and does some great work. Let's start with a pic of the blazer. It's nothing special but I will be working on the exterior after the build is finished. It's a 2002 4x4 4 door. Now Let's get the fun started... Got the interior all ripped out Built a platform to hold the box Now we had to try and get the box to fit. It was definitely a tight squeeze!
