  1. I have recently started my build and am in the asthetics stages, i will be redoing my headliner, making fiberglass door panels and doing all my electrical. I am still undecided on what subwoofers to install, i have a 2003 tahoe with the third row of seats removed so i dont think that room is an issuefor the box size. I am thinking 2 15"s and i really like both the Fi.BL and the Audioque HDC315. I want to get loud and would like to keep the price around 350$ a woofer. I also know there are a lot of DC fans on here but i have never researched there products. if you have any input on which one you suggest or what you like from experience that would be much appreciated. I am 18 and this is my first major build and its on my daily driver car so the subs need to be able to play day in and day out. thanks.
  2. I just recently ordered a sundown x12, and need some help on a box design. Want it to be tuned low, since all I mainly listen to is decaf. I don't have much space to play with, only a 36"wide, 13"height, 13"depth. Any ideas??
  3. I designed a box for a Soundqubed HDC3 18 that will fit in the back of my Mazda pick up. It will be running off a Cadence 2500.1 (1200rms) with stock electrical but will be doing the big 3 very soon. Opinions? Here are the specs: 7.98Ft^3 Net Volume 32.74Hz tuning W- 50in D- 18in H- 23in Port- H- 16.5in W-6.75in Length- 23in 14in^2 of port area per foot Driver displacement is included w/ bracing
  4. I have been following around on here for a few years now as a guest and finally decided to put something together recently. I have always had stereos in my vehicles but never to this extent. In high school about 10 years ago now I filled my trunk with (4) Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1Ds and I still have them to this day and they still work great in the car. I decided to put a system in the rusty Blazer finally since I have a buddy who is into car audio and goes to the competitions around here. It was funny for a while since everywhere I sat and bumped away, it left piles of rust! That seems to have slowed down now as a lot of it has fallen off. For my build I didn't want to spend too much but I wanted to go fairly big. I purchased: (2) Audioque HDC418s (4) Audiopipe APSM 1500s (two strapped per sub) (1) Audiopipe AP2004 (3) biggest Fleet Farm deep cycles I could find (2) 220 Amp Alternators (only one hooked up currently) All wiring from KnuKonceptz SMD DD-1 Pioneer MVH-8200BT (already had this) Kenwood Tweets Audiopipe 6.5s to replace the factorys (wasn't expecting a hole lot for the price but do just fine for what I want them for on high pass) I'm sure there is something I am missing, but all I can think of at the moment. The first day was ripping out all the interior and running my power wire as well as RCAs and remote wire. Three runs of positive and one for some extra ground: All back together: My first box: Our AQ mascot The alternator, have to take out the ac compressor and make up a bracket to put the second one in: The power: All up and running (8s in the cardboard boxes they came in!):
  5. Are you done spamming up the forum with your give-a-way deal yet? First of all that is a rules violation, 2ndly you are being issued a warning for repeatedly spamming up this forum trying to get people to watch your youtube channel. SMD is not for free based advertising. Please keep that in mind. Thanks
  6. 02 Honda Accord. Box will be built facing in and sealed off. I am getting a SQ2200d and a hdc312, but I’m not sure if I should run two off that amp. Wired at 1ohm.
  7. So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up. My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being: HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4 Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps. Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. I'll post pictures as i go through the install. edit: fixed the pictures
  8. I recently got an hdc4 in a pro box, its the super bass edition, therefore its a 2.25^3 box tuned at 40HZ i believe. but im looking to build one. Im running it off of a v-power 2k at 2ohms, should i go bigger with the box... volume wise? more port area? im wanting to hit some good numbers for the power im working with. its in a 02 lancer 4 door. Thanks!
  9. Which sub do you all think would be better and hit low notes better?
  10. Got a rockford fosgate p1000.1bd and a sundown audio zv4 d1 12. I was wondering if I ran the sub parallel at .5 ohm if it would end up frying my amp. Just got both products about a month ago.
  11. Finally starting on my 2dr blazer. Got alot planed for this. 13. What's up guys? I've decided that this weekend, I'm going to wall off my blazer. I've currently got my hdc3 18's subs up/port back and I'm not happy with the box. It is currently 13 cubes at 34.5 hz. with 210 sq in of port. I am having some unloading issues since I'm pushing 1900 watts daily to the subs. I was thinking of doing a smaller box at 36 hz. What do you guys think optimal box size would be for this power? Thanks!
  14. Well. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra SLT Ext cab. No pictures right now. Just got off work. Today is my birthday... Right now I have a AudioPipe 3000.1 The older one with the pipes on the front. 1ohm. Bought it for $280 at a pawn shop in Kalamazoo, Mi. As of Right now I have 2 Kicker Comps in a box I made. With my own 2 hands.. lol.. I found 2 AudioQue now known as soundqubed 18's for $250 guess What I got ripped off. Blown. So now going to order recone kits. Which I have the money on a card. Need better details on the subs to get the right recone kit. Anyways what I need from you guys is to get some box dimensions. Wall? or just a ported box? This is where I am stuck. I need the best system in the small town I live in. I like low bass. Maybe like 29-30 hz? box on the site are for 35hz this is not low enough. No Alt. No batteries Yet..
  15. Welll, when i got my car i thought this was going to be easy, well...turns out NO ONE has an install video or pics or ANYTHING about 2005+ model Volvo S40's. SOOOO i AM the only person in the world who has made a video on it and pics on how to do it. Its all at our audio team channel. LABaudio502 Check us out on youtube. I would start off by saying this is NO WHERE close to being a clean install. Its messy as hell so dont judge on that. i will be redoing it next year when i have ALL of my final equipment. (Sometime in the fall) But, this was just the starter, temp. system i installed. Im thinking about doing a custom amp rack and box in the back but i cant think of any ideas. Comment if you have any deas! Thanks! First Box: T1 when i first got it in This was some UGLY wiring Car when it was stock The blown Fi SSD 12 i aquired! Punch Pro 6.5's Installed in doors Stockk Volvo door speakers, NOT BAD AT ALL! FTW http://www.youtube.c...ser/labaudio502
  16. 2005 Dodge ram 1500 single cab. radio: Avh2300dvd (bluetooth adapter and video bypass) door speakers: crescendo pwx 8s x4 and crescendo ft1 tweeters x2 4 channel amp: audioque120.4 sub amp: audioque 2200d subs: sa 12 d4 x4 knukonceptz wiring this was what we originally came up with (some changes have been made since we started, but its the same general concept. so we started by stripping the entire truck out. and cutting out the center seat and started building: and it wasnt long before it started to take some shape went ahead and started out with some kerfing: and then after enough evenly spaced cuts, it becomes a 90 degree angle more coming now
  17. im designing and very soon building a wall for 4-HDC4 15s and would like to learn about putting 45s in all the corners to "improve airflow". now i do plan to coat the entire inside with resin and sand to either 3000 or 4000 grit for smooth as glass finish for those extra few db. but wanted to see if adding the 45 will improve the db at all, or lower port noise or anything. i have a 3D render on google sketchup of the wall and i can upload pics if requested. about the wall: -4 HDC4.0 15s -2 Q1-4500D.1 amps -16.75ft^3 net volume before woofer displacment -270in^2 port area 20" deep for 36hz tuning. -All walls will be 2x4s with mdf inside and some internal bracing -walled from the B-piller back in a 2004 jeep grand cherokee 4.7L v8 plain with no 45s render with the 45s

Description/Condition: Audioque 2200D: 10/10 cosmetic 10/10 mechanical Used with (2) D3400's and a HO alt with 1/0 stinger wire. Never dropped below 13.4 volts! Great sounding amp, and with proper electrical it generally does more than rated (do your research, you will see) Comes with the original box, manual, quality control birth sheet, and the bass knob. I did unhook the blue light in the bass knob (power light) because it was annoying. It can be solderd back if need be. The CLIP red light is still on the knob and functional. This amp was used by me personally less tahn 5 hours with the sub. They were in a show car and only played for demos etc at shows. It wasnt a street beater or abused etc. Amp is like new, and works perfect. It was very well taken care of and properly powered. It was not abused, and never had a single issue whenI have owned it. 4. Price: : Audioque Amp: $330 . I will consider a slightly lower price possibly depending on the shipping charge. Comes with all the original stuff. LOWERED to $290 + SHIPPING. I NEED THIS GONE ASAP! 5. 19. ok, short and simple.... i have 4-hdc4 15s which i know can take 4k each fine... im stuck between the soundqubed Q1-4500d.1 and the crecendo BC3500d... both about the same price, i know the Q!-4500D.1 puts out more power over all but im trying to see if the BC3500d will put out 4k at .5 ohm? anyone have clamp tests? ill be running 2-320A alts, d6500 under the hood and 6 d7500s!!!! in the back so im not worried much about power. im sure i can keep voltage up fine. also im worried that the BC3500s dont strap so it will be harder to tune all the amps to the same power. and tuning
  20. i have a aq 1200d wired down to one ohm on my nightshade but was wondering about the clipping sensor. i have heard if it clips a little bit its not bad. but i can't believe everything off the internet. i have yet to tune it out perfectly and will do asap (just put the amp in today). but to the point , what makes the sub clip?how can it be prevented? i have the amp on 2 gauge wire with stock electrical. will be doing the big 3 sometime soon.
  21. so im thinking of doing a kinda over the top box, i have a friend that can get me 1.5" thick SOLID red oak wood counter top boards for cheap. i want to build a box for a single hdc4 (most likely) for my jeep, i would be adding in a window and sanding very smooth and staining the box. so hopefully a really nice looking solid wood dark cherry stained box with a carbon fiber sub (dust cap) i honestly dont know what space the 12" hdc4s like what im looking for: dual areos sub facing up in the center of the box ports facing back and one on each side (so the box is symmetrical) loud but more of a FLAT response for a better sounding rear stage. ***would anyone recommend a different 12" size sub for a good sound quality build. im willing to give up to 2000rms to the sub of choice. *** MAX DIMENSIONS I HAVE TO WORK WITH 45" WIDE x 16" TALL x UP TO 32" DEEP but would like to stay under 18-20" if possible
  22. Well its time i started my own personal build log, this will be my first ever documented on SMD, so everyone please be kind. I recently(within the last few months) bought myself a 2006 Trailblazer. I've been planing a build in one of these for a long time now, and now that my life is going in a good direction and that I have steady cash-flow(first salary based job for me ) I have the means to do so. I've already done a few things to it as listed in my signature, but will be posting pics ITT of what is already done and what is to come. For me this is more of a budget build ATM but has potential/ am planning on turning it into a nice ground-pounder later on in it's life. Well her she is, not too shabby. Still needs a lot of work... So keep watching this thread for more updates. Although between work and school things might be slow for the first couple weeks but i will be bumping before the end of April. If you noticed the front wheel my tire on the stock wheel basically ruptured, is still okay to mount a new wheel on but i have other plans... i forgot to take a pic from the back but its nothing special besides the over-sized ridiculous ski-doo sticker.. that will be getting removed...
