It can't hurt, then if thats not the issue you would just have an extra battery. Carbon Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 If you have the money it cant hurt. If your car has a serious problem with eating volts while you sleep itll do you no good. Advance Auto tests that for free, not sure if they have those in Germany.

Make sure you slow charge them if you do this. 1.5amps or less I have a battery tender that my vehicle sits on when I dont drive it.

Sounds like you have the best policy for battery maintenance, charging your batteries is never a bad idea! I also agree on trickle charging them, sometimes it can bring batteries back from the dead. The starter battery (AGM) in my little Honda generator sat unused for 2 years and wouldn't take a charge from a traditional 5A unit and keep it for more than one turn of the key, I left it on a float charger (1A) overnight and now it turns right over. I'm gonna hate
