Losing my job at the time added a huuuge amount of time to me being able to get all of this rolling, but i'm almost done with my rebuild and 2nd rebuild.. so here it goes! Going from.. 2 RE SEx 15's 1 Hifonics GLX 1400.1D Over to, 4 Alpine Type-R 10's 1 Hifonics Brutus 2400.1 ( beastly!!) 1 XS Power D1200 First off, i'll throw out the video courtesy of LoudNLow931 of us building the new box for the subs. Yes, this box build was originally for 4 XFL's.. but we ended up deciding on type-r's. Little something else picked up for the challenger.. time for some new wheels!! Built a little batt box for the d1200 First test fit of the new box, and batt box installed Not bad! First test fit of the subs.. had to remove the protective surrounds.. really don't like how it looks! Zip ties for days.. Such a mess.. so many wires. Subs in and amp mounted.. we really didn't think ahead with this one. 2 guys lifting a hard to fit box loaded with 200+lbs was not fun. Spencer Good Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 Now, I absolutely hated having to keep the protective surrounds off. I also was having some mad voltage drop issues from the awful 16ga stock ground on the starting batt. So I decided to pull it all out and redo the ground.. figured I might as well redo the box while it's all out and get some new goodies. Heres why I love quad cabs so much.. pickin' up MDF on a rainy day isn't an issue! All the parts cut out here. Weird stack, huh? Painting the bottom and port Dried ( enough ) and assembled! Walls up! Definitely got enough sawdust on me.. New stuff! First cut with the jasper jig.. IM IN LOVE! Holes cut and some counter sink plugs in! Sanded down.. betcha can't find the countersink 2 heavy layers of black paint, and 2 heavy layers of bedliner later.. With a night of drying it's starting to look even better here.
