oTurtlez
So the next upgrade is an HDC3 15" running on an AQ1200. I know the whole, 4.5^3, tuned to ~35Hz with 60^2" of port but I cant quite get it in the size constraints I'm putting on it. Main problem being port volume. I can get everything else perfect but not the port. I'm going for a vertical sub and port (IE, both on top) And I want to retain some trunk space (Hummer H3) and believe me, they have deceptively small trunks (42.5" wide x ~30 deep) Dimensions for the new box are here in Torres, and I know the port length is WAY too short but I don't know what to do. Help would much appreciated, thanks.
vw passat
this specs are not good if its 15'' sub how the height is 14.5''? at least you need to have 16'' height. you need to add woofer displacement. port area you need to have at least 50in^2 and port area per foot at 12-16 range you are to low. and net volume about 3.75ft^3 and 4.00ft^

oTurtlez
I don't mind going taller but done want to go much deeper than 17. I'll change everything once I get home. Any other recommendations? Also, what's a decent port length and height?
Guest
you need WAY more port. like, almost three times as much. i hope you plan on bracing the box. you also need to put a number in for the # of common port walls. read the help file for more info on that. Omega5002
You need more port, like 16 per at a tuning of 36hz like AQ recommends since the sub has a very very stiff spider 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
oTurtlez
Like I said, I know I need more port, which is why I came here for dimension recommendations. I'm not trying to be an ass but when everyone continues to post "You need more port", it's not helping me a huge amount :/ EDIT: New dimensions. I've got plenty port now, as well as some bracing. Tuning is a bit higher than I'd like as well is volume. Recommendations?
vw passat
if you are put the sub on top yes is good 14'' height put still port area per foot you are low at least you need to have 15in^2 and port area at 50-51in^2.and about yor net volume is too high you need to make it about 3.75ft^3 - 4.00ft^
Guest
aim for 16sqin per cube. you're at 12.5 right now. just make sure you have the # of common port walls correct (either 0, 1, 2, or 3) and that your port height and width will actually fit inside the box
