Goblenator
I just got a 1999 BMW 740iL and want to upgrade the sound system. Anyone worked with this car before and how would i go about adding a Pioneer cd player and upgraded door speakers?
WillPwn4Food
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=981776 As far as speakers, your doors each have (1) 5.25" speaker and 1 tweeter. The rear deck is (2) 5.25" speakers but are odd-shaped iirc. You'd probably have to find an adapter or custom make one to fit a proper 5.25. Wicks
Just checked out the link above. The dash does look somewhat similar. You going for single DIN or double? If you want a double and its anything like mine, then you're in for a battle... Goblenator
Mine is the Dsp system and i'm looking to do a single DIN. I was wanting to know how difficult it would be to get a dash kit for that and how difficult it would be to use my own 4 channel amp?

I was wanting to know how difficult it would be to get a dash kit for that and how difficult it would be to use my own 4 channel amp? If you're staying with single DIN then its much easier. You just need a dash kit, something like this: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=265-820 How big is the amp? Are you wanting to use factory speaker wiring? I would suggest running new speaker wire as the stock wire is always a bit small.
