LT.Smoke
Checkout surefire lightsThanks for the advice. After some further thought I'm considering ditching the weapon light for just a hand held flashlight. My thinking is that to identify any target I have to point the muzzle at it w/ a weapon mounted light. Downside of a hand held flashlight is only one hand grip on gun. What's your guys thoughts on this? Im not a fan of weapon mounted lights because they add extra mass to the front of the pistol and secondly I was taught to use the cross hand flashlight method so thats what I prefer. Also I dont like the idea of having to muzzle sweep someone for identification especially under moments of duress. To me thats just asking for trouble.. Not saying weapon mounted lighting is bad though I was just taught to use a flashlight but if it comes to a long gun such as a shotgun or AR i would rather have it mounted so that I am able to maintain a 2 handed control over the weapon Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌
LT.Smoke
Ultimately you should practice both ways if possible and see which is more comfortable to you everyone has their preference Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌
ColumbusJBR
I thought about night sights but in my situation I don't think they're needed if I have a flashlight. As long as my target is illuminated I can see the outline of my sights, if not necessarily the dots on them. Not to mention they're expensive little fuckers... ColumbusJBR
Went and picked up a Maglite XL50 today to use as a hand held. Light, mega bright, relatively cheap ($30ish). I looked at the strobe just to see what it's like, it made me want to throw up! I'll report back if there are any surprises with it

ColumbusJBR
It's got some pop for sure but it's really not bad. Got a decent beaver tail on it and your hand is in decent line with the bore axis. I was able to pull off some pretty decent two taps. Of course it helps that it's a full size w/ 4.5" barrel. But I really had no trouble keeping control if it, and that's coming from someone who's mostly shot 9mm for years.
ColumbusJBR
And my hand felt fine afterwards. Web felt good, no slide bite or anything like that
