Will it be like this?

Red directly to the amp.

Blue to the ON switch then from the OFF to the amp's remote/sterios remote?

Black to ground on amp

Am i thinking right?

Have a switch for mine as well, but I just grounded it close to the meter instead of having to run the ground all the way to the back.

You want the positive and negative sense wires connected directly to the amp (or location that you want to monitor).

If the positive sense wire is on the amp and the negative is in your dash then you'd also be measuring voltage drop along your chassis which you don't want.

Depending on how much current your system pulls, it may not be an issue but its always nice to be sure.
