vw passat Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 i was thinking to make the woofer and port's back but can i make the pvs half inside the box and half out side the box is it possible? and the port lenght is 20'' and i have 3 port of 4'' ineed to make 20'' lenght on each port or 20'' divided by 3 ports?
CleanSierra Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 You need to have 3 ports and each port needs to be 20" long. You definitely can put the port partially outside of the box. it WILL slightly affect your tuning(will lower it just a little bit). Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 They sell elbows that allow you to do a 90 degree bend in the port. Just so you know brands like PSP sell aero ports with a standard length of 17"(18" if you.count the flares). If using a brand like them, you'd need to buy a sleeve that allows you to extend more of a portion. Come to think of it though, the elbow itself will account for some length through the center of us diameter and MIGHT be enough to be right at about 20" in total port length. Without knowing what the elbow like like, I cannot say for sure. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
vw passat Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 can u do a roughly sketch for me so i can have an idea pls CleanSierra? tx mate

bkolfo4 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Port area per cuft is nothing more than a decent estimate for people who cannot figure out how much port area they really need. . . Explain to me why you think this sub in 3.5 cuft needs less port area than this sub in 5 cuft for the same tuning frequency. Explain to me why a $10 MCM select 12" woofer on 100 watts in 2 cuft needs the same amount of port area as a Fi BTL 12" woofer on 3500 watts in 2 cuft with the same tuning frequency. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
vw passat Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 sry bkolfo4 but im a little bit slow to understand
