Hey guys i need some input. I am currently running a hifonics hfI 1500D amp and i was looking to buy a sundown saz1500d. My question is would i notice a difference with the sundown or should i step up to the saz 2500d? Im running 2 sa 12s ported with the hifonics amp and clarion mcd360 x-over

I think you would notice a big difference. Point being that the Hifonics dosent put out 1500 and the Sundown does, aside from the sound quality.

I thought the hi jonics was supposed to push 1500 but im not sure it does and i have to keep it low or it distorts pretty bad. Im hoping the sundown would help with that too

The saz1500d clamps out alittle over 2k [clean] in most cases so you will get alittle more power out of it versus the hifonics. Those sa 12's will eat 1k each in the right enclosure on clean power. Would i upgrade amps personally? Ehhhhhh if i already had them in a nice box and i had extra cash...sure. It won't be a huge difference but should be somewhat noticable. The box has a much larger effect on how it sounds on your ears. Just be sure you have clean power going to those subs (gain adjusted well, clean rca signal in, good voltage and amperage at amp, etc.) So in summary...probably not worth doing unless you get a killer deal on a saz....better built amps too. Look for other amp brands too like Crossfire, AQ, DC, Crescendo, etc.

i can get a saz 1500 used like new for 400 or a saz 2500 for 675 new. decent deals

How did you set your gains and filters on the amp?

The sundown will not help with the distortion if you set up the same as the hifonics

i had the stereo place set it so im not sure exactly cause its been so long since ive had a system that im not sure about setting it. i know everything is turned way down on the amp and the crossover doesnt seem to make a difference no matter where i set it. its confusing. not even sure if i should use the crossover

ehhh for 400 maybe...i see them on CACO for 300 shipped...now as far as distortion i suspect a) gains not set-up right or B) not enough voltage and amperage to the amp or c) cheap RCA's...no really lol gotta fix this before you get the SAZ or whatever because it will not go away by itself

im holding 13 amps steady at idle. i gotta figure out how to set it so i can turn it up without distortion. it slams now but i know it can be louder. i was thinking it was the amp but guess its just the settings.
