Ambassador of Bass Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 4 guage or 4awg? and is it a hissing or distorted sound like noelito asked? mmfr1 Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 4 gauge. no hissing just distorted when i try to turn the amp up and adjust x-over. my amp is only 1/4 the way up. i can listen to it at 49 on my pioneer without distorting but any higher then i get distortion which isnt the problem cause its loud enough but i think i should be able to turn everything up on the amp but i cant
Noel989 Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Where the gain is position doesn't matter Gain should match the preout voltage for maximum output or should not exceed the preout voltage So if you have high preout voltage your gain positioning will be low If you have low preout voltage your gain positioning will be high Lpf should be around 80-100hz Subsonic filter a few hz below tuning of box Eq/bass boost should be all the way down Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
mmfr1 Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 thats pretty damn close to where everything is. just dont know what the box is. i got from the stereo place pre built. so from everything ive read i should just stick with what i have and not spend the money on the sundown
Noel989 Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 If everything is close then why do you think you should be able to turn it all the way up? And yea I would get evrerything straighten out first before you purchase an amp cause if you do A direct swap you'll have the same problem Unless theirs something wrong with the amp Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
