alaskanzx5 Posted February 13, 2013 Report Share Posted February 13, 2013 been dealing with car audio for the past 5 years and i have learned the most in the past 1.5years from this forum. i am officaily starting my build log. it will be a long drawn out build that will be torn back out and then shipped when i move state in july but will go right back into another hatchback focus but this time hopefully a 2 door hatchback instead of a 4 door. i have had 2 10s, 1 12, 2 12, p500.1, t300.2 t1500.1bdcp. always ported and always nice. my first 10s were some old jl's i got for $50 and used for a year then replaced them with t1d410. the replaced the p500.1 with the t300.2. did a 138.8 wtih the 10s on the p500.1 in a prefab box. sold the 10s and got 1 t2d412 in a prefab box and did 143 give or take a little with the t300.2 then switched to the t1500.1bdcp and did just over a 144. the folowing year i got another t2d412 and built a box and did a 146 ( all metering with an audio control ). now have sold the 12s and buying 2 t2d415 and building yet another box. the equipment pioneer 80prs 2 punch pro tweets 2 punch pro mids 2 t2d415 1 t1500.1bdcp 1 t400.4 (maybe go with a new punch 400x4 or 600x4) wiring - all rockford 2 runs of 1/0gauge and 1/0gauge ground, 4gauge for amp power wire 8guage for sub speaker wire 16gauge for mids and tweets 1 rockford 10 farad cap not sure on batts but either sears diehard, shuriken, or xs but not buying batts until i move to oregon first up are pics of the other setups i had, dont have as many pics of it as i thought. got just over a 144 with this oh and i took out the blue fabric and replaced it with a black fleece, was way better. dont know what i was thinking when i did the blue, i was about 18-19 and it stayed in for about 2-3years. looked at it one day and said well wth was i thinking. no real score change but the other box i had it in. did a 146 with this but when i did i turned the box sub up port up port on passenger side. some of the trophies i have one, about half and half 1st and second place never anything less then second. now a few pics for the build in progress the little punch tweeter next to my rockford hat trying to figure out placement for the tweet and mid, gonna get a circle cut guide and make some mounting rings for tweet and mid to get a better idea on how im gonna do it. my t1500.1bdcp birthsheet the box im gonna build this is a slow project but i will hopefully have pics of my mids and my 4channel soon, waiting on taxes. in the meantime ill get pics of some of the wire i still need to run and the hu. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2013 the box i built for my 2 12s was barely even small enough to fit in the hatch and i had it rear facing with the port way to close to the hatch door and got a horrible score, something like a 143-144 but then i turned the box up facing and jumped to 146 instantly and by then my voltage drop was down into the low 11s at an idle and the port was on the passenger side. i wasnt paying attention when i put the box in and cut the speaker wires to short to flip it around so that the port would be on the driver side. im sure it could have done better if i would have put more work into it. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Report Share Posted February 21, 2013 no, at best a 148, maybe 150 if i get a second 1500.1bdcp on them but i still wont hold my breath. im not realy going for spl this time but if i cant still manage a 147 or higher ill be happy. just building it to be crazy loud with good quality. then im tearing it out and shipping the stereo system to oregon selling my cars and moving to oregon. then ill just buy another focus but this time a 2 door hatchback with a manual trans. gotta ship my bed and carpet cleaner down anyway ( just got them less then a year ago and have just under 2500 into them, shipping is at most 650 ) so im shipping my stereo with it. ill get some pics of the cd player installed and my shoe box of wires and fuses and other random stuff that will some how have a place in the build. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 21, 2013 ok, so i though i wasnt gonna leave until late june but i leave on the 2nd of next month. build is on hold for who knows how long. really want to just pick up a 2 door hatchback focus and put eveything in it but the wife wants a sedan. trying to figure out if i can get 2 15s in the back of a sedan facing into the cabin sealed off from the trunk. so far what i know is that the max width is about 40" and max height is about 20". then the opening from the back seats folding down is kinda small. if i have to i could always cut some of the metal to make it fit. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
