what I found when i reconed mine is if you pull the direct leads down too far you end up with them touchign the basket. It will show a dead short to your amp dead short. no sound gets played.

i never reconed this one. ill mess with it more later, wish my DMM read shit properly...

neither coils play btw

you can pop test them too.

i dont understand how both coils died so abruptly...

doesn't sound like cooked coils man, more like torn tinsel leads, is the sub locked up? did you smell anything weird last time it played?
