6.5" Rear Pods And Rca Coaxial Cable

Recommended Posts

I just purchased 2 sets of Clif Designs 60.4 Components and am completley redoing my system (last car DIED). I was wondering if it would be a good idea to build some type of enclosure around the mids mounted in the rear deck since my subs are locatde undeneath them. I dont want to blow the voice coil with my twelves. also is a blow thru that is 4.5" x 13" X .75" good enuff or should i open it up some more? I will try and post some pics as soon as I can.

my box is 3.832 cubes

Also I was wondering if it is possible to use coaxial (tv) cable to make rca cables???

My new system will consist of

4 - 6.5" clif designs 60.4

4 - 28mm tweets

2 - 12" kicker Comps 4 ohm

1 - Com1 Command Center 6 Channel Amp

PPI dbl din
DC Level 3
1.77cubes net tuned to 33htz.
DC audio 2.0k
CT Pro Audio 8" in front, 6.5 in rear

a coaxil from a tv is only a single conductor. you need 2 conductors for 1 rca. However you can ground the shield for the neg. I dont suggest using coaxil cable due to if they get kinked they are damaged for good, they also are not as flexible. If you really serious about wanting to make your own cable checkout http://www.fullcompass.com/category/Single-Audio-Cable.html , they sell conductor wire fairly cheap.
