Dual sub amp wiring

Recommended Posts

How do I wire 2 subwoofer amps to one head unit? The 2 amplifiers are Skar 1500's and they are going probably each to each ZVX. Or should I just strap them? Trying to get maximum power from the amplifier(S) to the subwoofers.

I'm actually trying to figure that out now the coil impedance, I don't know what to get because I don't know what would be better, Strapping or one amp to each sub. I do know that I want to run them at 1 ohm because, when I upgrade amps sometime in the late future I am going to get the Skar 4500.1 and I would like to run them at 1 ohm and not the famous .5 ohms.

I have both the CC-1 and the DD-1 so I can set the gain and then match the gain for both amps.

So, I was thinking if I did the setup of each amp to a sub would I need Y-Splitters for behind my head unit and another pair of RCA's for the Y-Splitters?

Either in the front or the back

You'll still need 2 y splitters

If you strap your final ohm load should be 2 cause that's were most amps are stable when strapped

I wish I could tell you which one would work better

I've read here it could go either way

If you get 2 d2 subs youll be able to try both

But if you wire them to a single amp your wiring options are .5 or 2 ohms

What do you mean by either way? I'll probably be getting the D2 style.

So I would need 2 Y- Splitters the ones that are 2 female and 1 male, with 2 RCA cables.
