MIKE-2U Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Since i cannot afford the intelli charger i went with a dofferent one. Its 1.1 amps and starts at i believe 12.6 volts and slowly goes up to 14.7. Is this correct or should the voltage be at 14.7 all the time? I guess im asking how a charger is suppose to charge these batteries amd other batteries. And is mine correct? 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoPioneer AVH- 3200DVD2/0 Flex-A-Prene Welding Cable (2) Fully Loaded Fi Sp4's dual 1-------> My YouTube Channel <------- Needs more power those woofers will laugh at that turd
Carbon Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 How is a charger suppose to charge batteries?
Raptorman Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Need a diff charger. I was in the same position as you. Walmart sells chargers in the battery section. I bought the Schumacher charger. Was like $60. Has 15 amp charging capability for lead acid, gel, and AGM. I hear you should use 15 amp charge to charge your batts. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. MIKE-2U Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 But is the voltage correct or should it be at 14.7 constantly or does it work its way up? 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoPioneer AVH- 3200DVD2/0 Flex-A-Prene Welding Cable (2) Fully Loaded Fi Sp4's dual 1-------> My YouTube Channel <------- Needs more power those woofers will laugh at that turd
Raptorman Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Dont know. Cant tell you. But what i can tell you ia that 1.1 amp charge rate is not enough. Thats basically just maintaining your battery. 412"ranger Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 That battey chager is way to small
DubNDodge Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 I use the Battery Tender Plus. It has 3 steps it goes through. Bulk charge, which charges the battery up to 80% it charges at 15.0. Once it hits 80% it drops down to 14.3 until it is 100% charged. Once it is 100% it maintains it at 100% at 13.4. It is a 1.5A charger. My D925 rested at 12.7 before using it, now it rests at 13.1 after using the charger on it every other week. MIKE-2U Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 See isnt that amperage too small^? But that sounds good. I should look into it 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoPioneer AVH- 3200DVD2/0 Flex-A-Prene Welding Cable (2) Fully Loaded Fi Sp4's dual 1-------> My YouTube Channel <------- Needs more power those woofers will laugh at that turd
DubNDodge Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 I remember XS posting somewhere that you really don't want to go over a max amperage of 4A and don't go over 14.4, but I am assuming 15.0 won't make my D925 gas too much. If you plan on letting your battery trickle charge (keeping it topped off) you don't want a real high amperage. MIKE-2U Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 Ok do you know if the charger needs to hold the voltage about a certain point or does it work its way up. I will look into that charger.
