  1. Adding my few cents as well on lithium. When I first start my car my alt does go balls to the wall for about 15 seconds bringing the voltage up from 13.7v to 14.3v. Hell it even makes my belt slip there is such a load at the start. The cold affects lithium huge. When it's 20-40F I can drop down to 12.2-12.5 fairly easily. On a nice 70F day I'll cook my coil before i make it touch 12.8. Usually I'll only drop to 13.1 This is all with the cheap winston lithium, which I don't recommend to people who haven't done any in depth research on lithium. I recommend JY 100% for anyone just getting into it. In regards to charging, the lower SOC the battery is, the less resistance it has. As it reaches full charge the resistance increases.
  2. I can't tell if I'm getting fucked with or not. I had the blue text/gray background then the red text/gray background. Now I'm at the black text and white background.

trying to set default skin to what it used to be.  Go ahead and scroll to the bottom and pick from one of the themes if you don't like this one.  Yours changed when i set the default that is all.  The other ones are still there.

  3. well at least the search function is working lol. I was able to search and find this thread. It's gonna take me a second to adjust to the new look, but the @name shit is gonna be awesome
  4. I mean tony is usually really picky on what is b stock and what isn't. that appears to be b stock to me. Did you even contact him yet?
  5. I don't have a window motor on hand or else I would have done it the second I saw this post lol. All I have is resistors and not enough free time.
  6. I have a variable voltage 50A power supply sitting on my desk. I should just rip out a window motor just to test this lol
  7. I'll say current goes down as voltage goes up, or that current goes up as voltage goes down. If an accessory needs 100w to operate we can look at P=VA since this is DC power. Lets use 100w for instance, 100w/14v=7.1A. If we decrease that voltage to 12, 100w/12v=8.3A. I do not believe that an accessory has a fixed resistance, but it will vary as needed to accommodate any fluctuation in voltage.
  8. Well I'm officially calling bullshit too. OP tried to act like it was a first opening the way he grabbed the decals like "oh free decals" Inside edges of the box weren't nearly fucked up enough imo. watch his other videos lmao. mechman 240A and a yellow top for electrical on this amp. I also think he said he shuts his car off when he runs his car. that amp will be back in the repair shop one way or another.
  9. The only time I care how an amp looks if it is new. I've bought so many used amps and I'm over what they look like. Hell the amp that looks the nicest is tucked away so you can't see it while the other one that has scratches and smudges is out in the open. tl;dr life is too short to get hellbent over cosmetics
  10. I thought I had the patience for a custom sub, but holy fuck. 2 months. I can't wait any longer.

Vinyl gets easier once you do it a few times, learn little tricks here and there. Pull that shit TIGHT! And make sure there are no screws, screw holes, or other little things you don't want seen if you don't use a padded layer.

  13. fucking christ. because when hasn't a shop tried to weasel more money out of you. "yeah you're gonna need another run of 1/0 so you can ground your batteries to the front" Give me an example of a car that you can't ground in the rear of the car, let alone the frame.
  14. if he dont have a solid ground he will have to run it to the front.. the panel is not stout enough to carry grounds.. also there are body bushing with rubber that can affect the current.. the best ground is the frame.. if there is frame under the trunk he will have to drill a hole to ground to it.. if its a unibody he will have to run the grounds to the front or find a way to connect the front frame to the rear frame You're missing the point. he thinks you HAVE to run a ground to the front. which is false.
  15. you don't have to run a ground to the front. Just ground to a thick piece of metal in the rear.
  16. I love how I have $500 burning a hole in my pocket for an alternator, but no one wants my money.

  17. Protected an amp for the first time today. Note to self, don't short out a wrench against your amp casing

Which is why all my wrenches and screwdrivers are wrapped in electrical tape, if one slips or accidentally taps anything hot, nothing happens.
