Not that it is a fair comparison but I had 2 type-R 12s in there at one point and it was loudest with port/subs up. Was a crappy prefab box but I hit 138 with it on 500W alpine monoblock. I am in the military and got stationed remotely for a year, my wife sold the box/subs/amp for $100! Rofl.. how would you have liked to been the guy that got that deal? My amp gets here on Tuesday (before I go to SC) and the subs should be waiting on me when I get back. As for the box build, I think I am going to go with birch instead of mdf. ncochran Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2013 Ack lol, when I printed everything out to go buy the wood today I noticed that the port listed on the torres calc was at 15x2 which doesn't seem to fit the 14"D or H of the box. I also noticed that the depth went a bit out of parameters to 14". I reworked it in Torres and came up with this. Does it work, and if so, could you possibly draw it up? I really appreciate all your help, I am just kind of stuck on the max dimensions being 38Wx11Dx17H, ideally the height would be a little lower but I can work with 17". The W is hard capped at 38", any bigger won't physically fit, and the D is soft capped at 11, any larger and I won't really have room to mount my amp and still get the hatch shut. I didn't want the width to be the maximum just in case if there was something that might get in the way with it, so made it and inch taller but that includes the second baffle.
