Gain setting problems

So I replaced my factory 6x9s, with some jbl 6x9s along with a rf 300 watt 2 channel amp. The problem is when I'm trying to set the gain with a dmm. The voltages aren't even getting close (19.26v for 185.5 watts per channel @2 ohms Correct?) I'm using rear outputs on my hu. 8 Guage power and ground. 1khz test tone 0db 75% volume. Did I miss anything?

you are wasting your time. Just guess your gains, it is just as good as the DMM. The reason you are having trouble is because it makes ZERO sense.

get an O-scope and learn how to use it. Once you "see the light" move on to something better like the SMD DD-1. Or not. LOL

i think he could, i dont know alot, but could he set the gain and then adjust his filters after? i know that my meter wont read anything ac that isn't 60hz. and i would have DD-1 but im not using anything worth anything and i dont have a job. so im fine with a dmm.
