Electrical Upgrade Questions

Planning on running an AB VFL 150.1 (in the neighborhood of 2kw) on an orion hcca 15, and 2 sets of crescendo cz 6.5 components off of a 300w alpine 4 channel. So a total of 2000-2500 watts max. I know that an ho alt is a necessary upgrade but I wasn't sure if I could get by for a while w my stock 125 amp alt and xs d3400 battery. If I charged the battery at night from home could I play the system daily for a few weeks until I upgrade my alt?

you dont need to upgrade your alt have two batts in the back, its nice to have the alt if your upgrading in the future but you need to know that deffinetly

I'm running my DC 3.5k at 1 ohm on my stock alt and an XS D3400 and a crapload of 1/0. have been since oct last year.

I certainly wouldn't recommend doing it to a new person, it certainly isn't ideal and can be risky on your amp if you were to push it full tilt into low low voltage. but if you have a digital volt meter, your amp will be fine if you stay above 12 volts. You can certainly listen to it moderately without issue till you upgrade your alt, again just watch your voltage.

Technically speaking yes you would be just fine without the HO alt but it wouldn't hurt to have it later on down the road if you have the extra cash flow for it. But yeah youll be fine with a couple batteries and the stock alt.
