Half the time I build it all line by line...lol and I dont know how to make sub cutouts correctly by making a tube 3/4" i assume. I only watfhed a few youtube videos haha. STEALTH808 Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 As I said, I'm not experienced with these boxes, but what you have there might look a bit too peaky. Just a feeling I get, as I have played with WinISD and the filters that can somewhat simulate cabin gain a while back. I would find someone that has experience with 4th orders in cars to run the design by, so they can give you some pointers on what to look for. Ok I will play with the ratios a little bit and try to find someone with more experience right now it's a 1:3 ratio. 3:1 will be good for your subs because 4ths arent the most efficient type of enclosure for the sa8s. youll prob have more output ported, then with a 2:1. so yeah bigger the better. if you had the space i say try a 6th. but you dont. The only measurement I put on the external port was the 3 and 6.5 which was what the max it could extend out. I wasn't sure how to find the correct upward length because of the angle. I wasn't sure how to find the correct upward length because of the angle. the way I understand it the way to measure port length when there's a turn is to measure as far as the center of the turn in each direction to either the center of the next turn or the end of the port. Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. To get port length through a bend or angle you have to measure halfway in between the inside edge and outside edge...from the cener of the port through the whole thing. What is port length supposed to be and how far from front of the box does it stick out? I will figure it out for you. The red line below is how you measure port length around a bend or L... looks like shit but I suck at Paint lol..and work mouse is horrible. You can see how you measure the redline at the center of the port for the length of the port. To get the bends you average the difference betweent the inside edge of the bend and outside edge.
