Bradprobert Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 I've had my sa-8s for a couple of months now and have been using them for a science fair. my project was on ported and sealed enclosures and i placed first in the engineering division ! i was completely socked and now am moving onto the state science fair april 4-6. after that my dad said i could put them in the truck. Anyways i know everything i need to know about sealed and ported boxes but i want to have more low end output so i decided to go with a 4th order. my intent is to raise the back seat up a couple or three inches to have one sub under each side of the back seat facing each other with the port in the center. my first question is would that be considered isobaric placement or not? if that is too much would two seperate boxes in the same orientation be better? i plan on having the magnent in the ported section for several reasons. im sure there is a bunch of variables im leaving out so any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated! i will also make a quick sketch to get a better of what im thinking. Bradprobert Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 here are a couple of questions i forgot to ask: 1 what is a good ratio for sealed to ported volume? 2 how much port area do i need and what air velocity do need to stay under? 3 I've been trying using win isd pro and the is more than one type of 4th order? 4 does it matter if the top of the box is angled? i wouldnt think so but i had to ask.
