IBleedMusick
You Cant count on box rise And voltage drop??? Sub rated at 1000 and amp it'll do 1150 that's a good match why the need to over power? I paid for all the options on the sub, I thought that the upgraded coil, spider, cooling etc would translate to the sub taking more power... In theory yes but ideally no. That sub stock will handle a little more than rated power with the extra options it will take a little bit more but you are talking about WAY more power. One clip or one time playing full tilt too long and TOAST. You have accounted for all this but you didn't account for what that amp will actually clamp. It makes stupid power so even at 2 ohms you will be happy. Trust me the fact that you're questioning doing it tells me you don't have the experience just yet to properly throw double rms at your sub and let it live to see another day. Just wire it at 2 ohms beat on them for now and be happy until you upgrade. 2013 Dodge Charger Build Log 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0Build Log 2005 Honda Civic LX Coupe Build Log SMD SUPER SELLER!!!!My Selling Feedback
Carbon
Your correct, I dont have the experience throwing double rms at a woofer. Guess ill throw roughly 1kw at each sub and see if I can hit a

RooTxBeeR
Carbon realize this though, at 2 ohms you will probably have very little voltage drop. You will see substantial village drop a .5 ohms compared to 2 ohms. Just a thought. I would run at 2 ohms and call it a day.
