How to multiple smaller subs stack up against a few big subs

imo they run the bigger cones beacause of the lower frq they produce ,also you get more cone area with less speakers. if you want to build a daily with good sq then i would do more of the smaller woofers as you get a better frq range

Just to reiterate your thoughts.

Smart people don't run bigger subs because of the lower frequencies they produce. Your first statement is pretty much your tell you have no idea what you're talking about.

You can't even properly measure the cone area of a sub, which means you have no idea when what comparison has more or less cone area.

If someone was trying to build a sq car, they wouldn't be using multiple woofers anyways. The whole point of sq is a well balanced sound stage which does not require that much cone area for the sub stage. And smaller subs do NOT have a wider range of frequencies than larger subs.
