Chris Bozman Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 I have an older Crossfire BMF1000D that the mosfets fried and replace all of them. Before replacement they amp would kick on for a split second then go into protect mode and then the green light would come back on but very dim. Now after replacing the mosfets, all of the mosfets in that section of the amp. All made on the same day and batch. Now I did notice a little charring around one of the through hole resistors in the same area of the mosfets...i want to replace it but how can I identify it? It is just color coded. I want to fix and use this amp on my 2 12" American Bass tnt 12s until I can afford 2 more tnts and 2 American Bass vfl 100.1s...the amp I was using was seriously lacking power. Pushing 175 watts a piece at 4ohms. Now I picked this up for super cheap cause it was blown. But I want to fix it cause Ive heard some decent things about this amp and going from 175 a piece to 500 a piece is going to be way way better. I will finally get to see what these puppies can do. I build a dual 6" aero ported 6 cube enclosure tuned to 30hz. After displacement the subs are seeing about 2.25 a piece. The 175w a piece made em pound real good. Made my windshield wipers flex haha...so yeah. I want this amp fixed so I can bump cause I cant afford another amp for like 2 months or more. If anyone has any idea on how to identify the component let me know. I will upload a pic or 2 on this thread tomorrow.

Chris Bozman Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Thanks Pasta! I actually went and researched this and more. Got a dmm and figured out what the resistor was. 1/4 watt 15 ohm. Replaced it and still same issue. Staying in protect...BUT! I decided to test my battery. It was running at 5.6v! Way low! So the amp is staying on protect now because the voltage from the power source is not within the 10-18v range. Mind you this is being bench tested in my house off of my optima red out of my trunk. So I asked myself...is the battery bad? No way cause it worked fine before I disconnected it a few months ago. Well come to find out (the reason i disconnected everything was due to everything being extremely distorted.) my damn fusable link was blown and couldnt tell without fully removing it and my amps were running off of the battery in the trunk only! So I will be getting a new fuse tomorrow and finishing up hopefully. I am pretty sure the amp will fire up. All components tested fine. We will see whats up tomorrow. I will post some pics and video of my system tomorrow.

The title is wrong btw...i found out after I posted and never changed....that the amp in the vid which is a 1400w dhd...only 2ohm stable so I had to run my 12s at 4 ohms @325 watts...BOOTY! Lmao...still pushed them pretty decent. The box I built really helps. Cannot wait to get 500 to each! man!!!
