My main question is at the bottom of this post: scroll down for that. All the info is as follows:

Alright, This is what i think i want to do. This is pretty much as big as i can build.

This box is for 4 sa-12's on 3200(ish) watts.

B" pillar wall in compact car.

Here are the torres calculations. I just entered the net volume from sketchup because of all the extra baffles and stuff. Easier than typing all that into torres.

Here are pics of the box,

Port Length based on area/width.

what you don't see:

I will run some thick all thread front to back for bracing, and to the port wall in a couple spots, but that wont amount to enough volume to make any noticeable difference.

My numbers show 4 runs of 1" all thread only eat up .06 cuft.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the question at hand:

The port area may be too much, but i don't know since it is going to be sealed off to the front of the car and there is not a lot of air space in front of the box.

I would do a center port but i don't have the height to do it and still have a strong enclosure.

Anyway. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Hopefully you guys that have experience with walls can chime in.

Thanks.

edit:

i listen to a lot of rock and some country, i play rap just to demo. no chopped and screwed stuff. Music is a must.

I don't get it...where's the question? Are you asking if it is too much port?

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

yes, that is the question. Plus i just want to see if anyone notices any major issues.

Just want to get some feedback before i go and cut hundreds of dollars in mdf and spend hours and hours just to have a flawed enclosure.

4.5 x 25 is definitely not too much port area.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
