WillPwn4Food Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 The sundown x series doesn't look bad either. Wall build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174827-walled-taurus-with-lambo-doors/#entry2571893 real men dont use fuses Neither do moronsSays the guy with lambo doors on his Ford Taurus.
blakgtp Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 Get the Fi Q, you won't be disappointed with that kind of power going to it, in the right box built and tuned properly. By the way, you don't HAVE to tune stupid low to get the sub to perform WELL low. The sub(especially a 15") has some good cone area and its going to reproduce the frequencies you want. You tune too low and you start to fall flat higher up, where 95% of the rest of the NON-DECAF world is. about 2000 watts. ab vfl 4480 is rated at 2200 at 1ohm. the enclosure was recently built for my 15" fi bl fully loaded. it's 4.7 cubes net, 30hz, 68 sq in. of port
CleanSierra Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Vas, Bl, and xmax are other specs to look at for demolishing lows. It's all about DISPLACING air. You need a sub that can move air, and a box that works WITH the sub, not against it. Power handling, and airspace requirements need to be considered before buying a sub. You can't expect it to perform at its best in a predetermined environment or one that wasn't built with that sub in mind. In other words, expecting it to work in the enclosure you already have for another sub, is seeing it up for failure.so going off these t/s parameters, the sundown x-15 seems to be a good candidate? I noticed it has 422g of moving mass. that's a lot more than the other woofers i'm looking atI'd say that the BIGASS motor on that X has NOOOO problem control moving mass. Plus two things:1) The bitches lovez the Sundownz 2) Sundown gets the deebeez everyone knows that. Also if going sundown, you'll need roughly a 4 foot sticker for the rear window of the car so you can represent Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 The BL shouldn't be a sloppy sub by any means, why aren't you happy with the way it produces lows? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Raptorman Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Sundown X or Fi Q I would say. Talk to HatersGonnaHate. He's got the X-15 and says it gets low as fuck in a box tuned to mid 30's I believe. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. I had a sa-15 a while back and it got loud for what it was. it was tuned to 36 hz though so I never really tested the low end. and tbh I'd be set on the sundown X if i didn't have to wait until June for it...
blakgtp Posted March 24, 2013 Author Report Posted March 24, 2013 The BL shouldn't be a sloppy sub by any means, why aren't you happy with the way it produces lows? Haven't put the enclosure or sub in my car yet. had some repairs to deal with. and someone wants to buy the bl, so I figured it would be a good chance to get a sub more oriented towards the lows. I know the bl can get really loud though, I've heard some local
CleanSierra Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Fi builds subs to order, so you'll be waiting on those too. Whatever is in your budget and well handle the power you're gonna throw at it. If you go over the RMS too much, the sub is gonna start getting picky and youre gonna WANT to control that come movement so everything stays linear. So shrinking box volume might be something you need to explore. Just to avoid me going and looking on Fi's website, don't come back and say,"well Fi says it will go in such and such volume" . That only applies when getting a sub RMS power, not over Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Just put the brakes on and LISTEN to the BL before you go making unknownchanges. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
