Bryan88 Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 I am trying to design a single 12" vented enclosure for my brothers 91 Integra, i tried using the Torres tuning Calculator but cant figure out the Port Dimensions. i want to get the maximum out of this set up which will be the Pioneer TS-W3002D2 bridged at 1 ohm and i will be using the Pioneer GM-D8601 amp to move this sub... i measured the maximum size as followed due to keeping some trunk space... H= 14.5" - 15" Maximum W= 30" Maximum D= 11" - 12" Maximum Here is the spec sheet for the sub http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Pioneer%20TS-W3002%202502%20instruction%20manual.pdf This is as far as i got with the Torres Box Calculator
iCool247 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Try this box calculator if you haven't already. It might help with you port problem. Joe X Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 So here is a simple suggestion port/subs front for a trunk car: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 34 HzVb = 1.4 ft^3External Height = 14 inExternal Width = 29 inExternal Depth = 12 inPort Width = 1 1/2 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 29 x 14Left & Right Sides = 9 3/4 x 12 1/2Top & Bottom = 29 x 9 3/4L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 8 1/4 x 12 1/2Extension = 15 1/4 x 12 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.- All trunk boxes built outside the car need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- The port needs 1 1/2" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.
Bryan88 Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 Joe, thanks, btw what do you mean by Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts: or should i just ignore that? also for the port i have the dimensions at the extension for .75 then the actual port is 1.5, is this correct? Also is there a specific area to mount the sub at or any were in the front is fine?
Joe X Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Ok, fixed that above, sorry, did a sketch for on your dimensions, place the sub as shown.
Bryan88 Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 Thank you once again Joe, do i install a 45 on the port area? or no need?
Joe X Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 If you take a look at the sketch, corners inside the port are slanted, do that or round them, if you want to do a 45 inside the port make sure the width of the port stays the same at the corner than elsewhere inside the port, that is 1 1/2".
mattie Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 So any updates? I was thinking about using this same sub.
