are you running another battery in the back or going straight to your amps?

At this point in time, I'm running straight to the amp.

the amps usually have a fuse on the amp. when you are putting the fuse at the beginning of the wire close to the battery that is protecting the wire for any shorts in the wire or over drawing the wire(pulling to much current). so thats why you get a fuse that is rated for what the wire is rated for. i you run wire that is rated for 125 amps thats the size fuse you should go with at the start of the wire run or smaller. if you go with a bigger fuse then the wire isnt protected.

what amps you working with yes most old school amps had fuses on them

you dont want to overfuse by you amp too much do to it may not break if you have to, say you have an amp that requires 100amp fuse and you put a 300 in there well when the current is in demand and dont have the juice your fuse is in line to take the damage and not your amps

So basically here's my big question. I just need a complete and accurate answer. I plan to run a Crescendo BC2000 with two runs of 1/0 into toolmaker dual inputs. No extra batteries, no distribution blocks. Would I fuse both wires? What size should the fuse(s) be? Anyone please help me with an accurate answer lol

Two 300A fuses directly off of your battery under the hood, one on each wire. Wire protection.

Two 100A fuses right before dual inputs, one on each wire. Amp protection.

Couldnt I just fuse each wire right off the battery with one 100A fuse on each wire? I feel like the 300A is pointless when it's just getting funneled to a 100A anyway.

You could but you'd waste all that 0ga that your using.

The underhood fuses match the current rating of the wire. You want the full capacity of that wire, especially for long runs where wire resistance adds up. The fuse is only there in case the wire gets pinched and shorted to your chassis. In daily use you want it as transparent as possible.

The fuses at the amp are for protection if the amp faults and pulls too much current. The wire won't be involved in this scenario but you'll want to minimize damage inside the amp.

Yes you will only have 100A flowing through each cable but all that extra copper will give you less voltage drop which is a GOOD thing, especially if you don't have a rear battery on the amp.

yup and if you have any plans on upgrading later then you would need to buy more i only run 2 250s under my hood buth its spoiled up under the back
