Where to locate port for SPL

Im currently in the middle of walking off my 1994 2 door Blazer with 2 mayhem 18s... Everyone says the best place to put the port is the driver side for SPL. But, I run outlaw in USACI and I didn't know if it would make a difference since my driver side door will be open. Thanks for the help.

I ran USACi in my suburban back in 2007.

Port was driver side. Loudest was mic on drivers side with passenger window open 6".

You have to test every combination - dont just assume. I had a .5 dB variation from window open 6" to window down all the way. Door open was almost 1 dB off from having the window open 6".

Testing takes a LOT of time to do it right. Allow subs to cool, charge batts between each test and make sure there are no other variables other than the one you are testing. Seat position, arm rest position, with a person in the vehicle or not in the vehicle, etc. Depends on how important that last .1 dB is to you :)

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Thanks for the help. I was looking for a bit more of a direct answer though... Based on experience, where is the best place to place a port in general on a wall, when running outlaw with the driver side door open, mic on passenger side.
