Fatman489 Posted April 16, 2013 Report Share Posted April 16, 2013 Ok let me start by saying this pertains to the SAME subs (dc m2 xls personally) but ive come to a realization .. 4 18s probably are not gonna fit without a wall .. so my basic question is a ported wall for 4 18s subs and port forward obviously vs a box subs forward port up with 4 15s .. both same power same subs ... how much is the loss in cone area really gonna hurt to the ear? ...I know theres like a 300ish sqin of cone sacrificed ... being 4 15s is roughly 700 and 4 18s is roughly 1000ish .. but box design being varied is it going to make up for the lose of cone? ... I realize theres no in stone type of answer but basic guidelines and personal experience is what im after... so with that being said what do you guys think? I have no experience with walls at all .. and it would be a cab box since the vehicle is a crew cab nissan frontier ...I mean ive onky ever heard one wall and it wasnt impressive ( I know nothing of the setup or specs so it was probably mis designed ect ... just had about 16 jl 10s or 12s .. been a few years lol) DFAC Beating Down The Block 2013 Kenworth T-660 Studio Sleeper-The daily and Money maker I do what I want -push it till it pops!
