Help needed with Custom Enclosure for 2 Sundown Audio SA 12's

Hi guys, i recently purchased 2 SA 12's and was wondering if my box design is good enough for the two subs?

specs:

SUNDOWN AUDIO SA 12 -D4 gonna be running at 1 ohm 2000w rms on a SHOK II amp

vehicle is a mitsubishi lancer 1996, 4 door sedan trunk.

dimensions that the car has :

35 width

17 height

26 depth

is my enclosure good enough for 2 12's??

I also play a lot of rap music range from 30hz - 45hz

if you guys have your designs or help me design one for me then I would appreciate it very much and would be very greatful to you

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34.5 Hz
Vb = 3.8 ft^3

External Height = 14.5 in
External Width = 35 in
External Depth = 22 in

Port Width = 4 1/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2x Front = 15 3/8 x 13
2x Front Internal = 13 7/8 x 13
Back = 35 x 13

Left & Right Sides: 20 1/2 x 13

Top & Bottom = 35 x 22

Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts:

2 x Front to Back = 18 3/8 x 13
2 x Extension = 1 11/16 x 13

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

Important notes:

- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.

- All trunk boxes built outside the car need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.

- The port needs 4 1/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.

- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

I didn't check it and that's because the Re calculator itself has issues and don't account for the displacement of the drivers, if you take a look at the box I left, you can know the port area I gave and just about anything else about it. I can tell you that it will work as posted but if you decide on different parameters you can use mine just as a reference.

hey joe x....could you help me with my port size man? i have most of my cut out just need my port size so i can tune to 32hz, also have 2 sa 12....need the port size and the bracing size ...i have a box dimensions of w36 x d22 xh14, can go 38wide....also have another box dimensiton with the sise of w32 x d22 x h14 with the port of 3 inch wide and 18.2 length but i think its wrong

Ok, say you do a w36 x d22 x h14 box. then to be tuned to 32 Hz you need the following:

Port width would be 4"

2 x Front to Back = 18 1/2 x 12 1/2

2 x Extension = 2 3/4 x 12 1/2

Following this assembly style in the pic below the two front pieces would need to be:

2x Front = 16 x 12 1/2

Made like stated above your box spec would be 3.9 cubic feet @32 Hz 50 square inches of port area, if you have any questions let me know.

Sundown recommends 3.5 ft^ net size..with 50" squared port area and tune to 35htz for optimal performance..about 1500 watts of power to em and its all good..now I think anythimg bigger than that you would need to use less power to keep the suspension under control

well I planned in using 1000rms for now the move up to 1500 rms since i already have a new jl audio jx 1000/1D i havent used

I like joe x box and think its pretty accurated tho,....i wokerd with this other guy no make a box and came up witha box with measurements of Depth 22' height 14.5' width 36' (all outside dimensions) with a a port of 13' height 4' wide and 27' long....how does that sound????

If someone would help me design a box for 3 sa 12s.. It's going in an extended cab colorado so Ima face them up in my back seat. I have like 44inches of space wide it can stand 22inches high and it can be 14inches deep.. I want it tuned to 36hrz can someone help it be much appreciated trying to do a nice ported box for maximum DBS
