imp rise?

Let me start by saying I know very little about imp rise. However, if I understand things correctly, all subwoofer setups suffer from it. So your dual 2ohm inputs wired in series/parallel might read somewhere around 1 ohm with no power to them, in all reality with music playing the impedance is actually higher than that.

Having said that, if you have an amplifier that is rated stable at 1 ohm, would it be "safe" (I know that safe is a relative term and am not asking anyone to warranty my gear for me lol) to run it at a .7 ohm load since although in theory it is a .7 ohm load, in practice it is higher than 1 ohm while playing at higher volume?

The amplifier in question is a Hifonics brz-2100 but I am asking about amplifiers in general, so not really looking for "Hifonics is poop, get better gear" I am currently running it at 1.3 ohms (3 e8v3d2 subs) and looking at buying 3 more 8s. With the rms @14.4 being 2100 at 1 ohm, and the rms of the subs being at 300W each, it seems like the amp could run 6 of them in the ballpark of their rms. I am just wondering if imp rise affects the amps ability to handle the load. Thanks much

My electrical really isn't all that bad with the amount of power I have. I acknowledge it could be better but I hold a pretty steady 12.9 at idle running full tilt. My lights dim just a little bit which I don't like, so I am looking at upgrading. I imagine that the difference between running at 1.3 ohm and .7 ohm on that amp would still put me holding above 12VDC at idle. I have big 3 done with pretty solid wiring all around and a pretty solid battery. It isn't big boy electrical but I don't have big boy power right now. It was recommended to me from mechman that with one of the smallest batteries they sell (like $90) and the big 3 which I have done, that I should be all set for the power I am running.

Don't take the above as me dismissing your comment or being offended though. I realize I could use a lil upgrade. I appreciate the advice, I am more interested atm though with the main part of my question.

Anyway my main question is whether or not (assuming electrical is fine) running at .07 is really running below the amp's rated 1 ohm stability when you factor in rise.

It is my understanding that rise often = 1 ohm or greater, so by the same token (not that I intend to) is running at .25 ohm really like running at 1.25 (as far as amp safety and power produced is concerned) if rise = 1 ohm?

If an amp is only safe to 1 ohm I can't see it being able to be done at anything below that safely. Don't ever count on rise to save your equipment.

you need to test different test tones of bass that you play. what ever your subsonic filter and low pass are set to, test in that range on burps with the amp you are currently running. use a clamp meter and multimeter to check ur rise. i recommend test tones in factors of 5, so 20,25,30, etc. once you've done this, if the lowest you see after rise is 1ohm+, you should be fine. however, just because this amp did that, doesn't mean another amp will rise as much on a certain frequency. all amps are different and the quality of them impacts it a lot. the box does as well!

just an example of my system:

when i was running 2 15 saa icons in a sealed box, i hooked up my soundstream tx12000d to it at .5ohm and it would NOT play longer than 10sec, it would go straight to protect.

then when i built a wall running 2 18 DC xl m2, i hooked up the same amp at .5 and played it daily, so the conclusion says that i had much more box rise with my wall than i did with the sealed box. (the ssa icons came with the sealed box. t i dont run sealed lol)

hope this helps
