Box design help.

Well I found a used t1500.1dbcp for a steal so I'm thinking it would be to much for the sa-12. Well any way I could bug you for a box design for a dc lvl 4? Pretty please? Yes box is build for the sa-12 but i can consider it practice craftsman ship.

I could always open it and add extra braces to take up some volume and add strength. But I'd be interested in a box design plz and gauge my interest. I wouldn't mind making it a lil deeper so it doesn't take up full width

Ok, here's a suggestion for the L4 12":

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34 Hz
Vb = 1.75 ft^3

External Height = 16 in
External Width = 31.75 in
External Depth = 13 in

Port Width = 2 1/8 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 31 3/4 x 16

Left & Right Sides = 10 3/4 x 14 1/2

Top & Bottom = 31 3/4 x 10 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 8 5/8 x 14 1/2
Extension = 22 1/2 x 14 1/2

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

Important notes:

- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.

- All trunk boxes built outside the car need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.

- The port needs 2 1/8" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.

- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

So ended up not going with the dc lvl 4 but did pick this up today.

Well, you have a box and a sub so put it together and see what it can do, just take care with that kind of power on a single SA-12, subsonic filter engaged to 28Hz and the amp input gain properly set. You may also want to make sure your box doesn't leak if your cuts were not all that straight.

Box didn't turn out bad but I'm redoing it this weekend. Using the table saw instead of hand saw.

I put it together. I may end up doing to. Even at 4ohms this amp is a monster. Joe curious if you still have the blue prints for the duel sa-12's.

Yes, but that box I posted need two subs and you have only one, it would make sense to run two subs, the box would fit the frame without being thin and the amp power would match the subs. If you want me to post that again, let me know.
